Drudge is sliming Kerry again!
**KERRY NOT SURE GOD ON AMERICA'S SIDE

At the debate today:

Is God on America's side?"

KERRY: Well, God will -- look, I think -- I believe in God, but I don't believe, the way President Bush does, in invoking it all the time in that way. I think it is -- we pray that God is on our side, and we pray hard. And God has been on our side through most of our existence.

Where is there anything wrong with what Kerry said?

Does someone know where Drudge lives?

1. It's like the 'Operator' game...
"I don't believe, the way President Bush does, invoking it all the time in that way."

becomes...

"I don't believe what President Bush does about God."

becomes...

"I don't believe God is on our side."

becomes...

"God is on THEIR side."

and so on.

16. Oh dear, Kerry's getting "Gored" again
We're going to see a million Poliers and doctored photos by the times this election ends.

2. I hope Kerry adapts Edwards' answer once Edwards is out.
Edwards handled this question much better.

4. It was beautiful
He told an anecdote about the Civil Rights movement (I think) and concluded by quoting someone's wish that "we always be on God's side."

Edwards' rhetorical skill when it comes to spirituality is one of his biggest assets.

5. Edward's answer was great
He told of someone (sorry I don't remember who) that was asked to close with a prayer that God would be on our side. This person said he would not pray that prayer, but would instead pray that "We would be on God's side."

It was PERFECT!

7. It was an Abraham Lincoln quote
Used beautifully and effectively by John Edwards.

When Lincoln was asked by a General to pray that God be on our side, Lincoln said no, but I will pray with you that we are on the side of God.

I had a brain fart. It was a perfect response. As a Kerry supporter, I immediately said, "DAMN! I wish Kerry had thought of that!" LOL

20. God I love John Edwards!
We really need to nominate this man. Bush wouldn't have a prayer against him.

6. Well...
...you DO know that there IS a candidate
who will NEVER have dirt dug up on him, right??

It's not too late to support the only
candidate ABLE to fight corporate waste:
The man you all love to love-and-dismiss,
DENNIS J KUCINICH!

We can influence the platform in July
if we are strategic in our voting--
so what do we have to lose?

Well, big brother, for one.
A bloated Pentagon Budget,
NAFTA and the WTO, Corporate welfare...
...I guess we have ALOT to lose after all!

All the more reason to support DK!

10. Proper answer to a BS question like that
(although I didn't see the debate and don't know the context):

"I will leave that to the theologians."

11. The Lincoln quote was excellent; so was Sharpton's response
Sharpton said that Bush thinks that he and America are the same thing and they are not. The implications was that Bush thinks he and God are the same person and of course they are not.

13. Look for the two Pat Robertson fans for Kerry to scratch their heads
Thanks Drudge for more simpleton garbage to furthur prove to the American people that you are a partisan neoconpoop.

Rush will lead with the story tomorrow. Hannity is crapping in his pants that the story has legs. Fox News is getting the graphics guy to make an over-the-shoulder graphic with a split screen of Jesus and JK with the title "Kerry is against God?"

What an industry.

14. Did Anyone Else Immediately Think of Bob Dylan?
Oh my name it is nothin'
My age it means less
The country I come from
Is called the Midwest
I's taught and brought up there
The laws to abide
And that land that I live in
Has God on its side.

Oh the history books tell it
They tell it so well
The cavalries charged
The Indians fell
The cavalries charged
The Indians died
Oh the country was young
With God on its side.

Oh the Spanish-American
War had its day
And the Civil War too
Was soon laid away
And the names of the heroes
I's made to memorize
With guns in their hands
And God on their side.

Oh the First World War, boys
It closed out its fate
The reason for fighting
I never got straight
But I learned to accept it
Accept it with pride
For you don't count the dead
When God's on your side.

When the Second World War
Came to an end
We forgave the Germans
And we were friends
Though they murdered six million
In the ovens they fried
The Germans now too
Have God on their side.

I've learned to hate Russians
All through my whole life
If another war starts
It's them we must fight
To hate them and fear them
To run and to hide
And accept it all bravely
With God on my side.

But now we got weapons
Of the chemical dust
If fire them we're forced to
Then fire them we must
One push of the button
And a shot the world wide
And you never ask questions
When God's on your side.

In a many dark hour
I've been thinkin' about this
That Jesus Christ
Was betrayed by a kiss
But I can't think for you
You'll have to decide
Whether Judas Iscariot
Had God on his side.

So now as I'm leavin'
I'm weary as Hell
The confusion I'm feelin'
Ain't no tongue can tell
The words fill my head
And fall to the floor
If God's on our side
He'll stop the next war.

I believe in the words of Woody Allen who said "How can I believe in God when just last week I got my tongue caught in the roller of an electric typewriter?"

25. Edwards'
answer was great. I liked Sharpton's as well. Kerry's wasn't bad, but it wasn't nearly as good as Edwards. Edwards is smooth as hell!
