Can we quit talking about Bill Richardson for VP?
while he looks like a good pick, he's said that he'll turn it down and intends to serve out his full term as governor. And since he hasn't even served a full term yet, that seems logical.

Talking about him like he's still a viable VP pick reminds me of the Freepers talking about Hillary like she's planning to somehow take the nomination.

1. When did Richardson say that?
I have never heard him say that he won't be the VP nominee. He has only said that he plans to serve out the rest of his term, from what I have heard. But, that doesn't mean that he will not accept the nomination if it is offered to him.

7. I heard him say that about running for president.
He didn't run, as he promised. Don't think he'll break that promise for a VP slot.

2. yes
The ones I list are Clark, Edwards, and Gephardt. But there might be others that will be on the short list with names not as high profile.

I forgot Bayh, though I think it's doubtful.

9. My own fear is Graham
Would be too boring. Kerry can come across as somewhat dull, and Graham would cement that image in my view.

15. Graham is too boring for you? But Gephardt isn't?
At least Graham has some amusing and likable qualities, and WOULD help in the most important swingstate by far. Notice the media whores are saying, no, no, forget about Florida, focus on OHIO. Gephardt got FOURTH FRIGGIN PLACE in Iowa. He is not going to be our golden ticket to the midwest.

Florida is the most important state and Graham wasn't too boring to elect him 5 times.

6. Drop Gephardt
After his little dance with Bush in the Rose Garden, I want nothing to do with him.

13. As a New Mexican, I can assure you that the anger and
disappointment that he'd go back on his word to us would far outweigh any "thrills."

Besides, when he makes his move it will be for prez, not VP.

5. I definitely saw him on TV in the last month say that he would not
accept VP job. Sorry I don't have a link nor station I saw it on - one of the cable "news" shows, either CNN or MSRNC.

8. Agreed, and you can't imagine how it infuriates us New Mexicans
to have thread after thread raise the possibility of a Richardson VP, no matter how many times we point out that he's promised us he'll serve out his term as guv (he has two years to go).
