Top Ten Reasons to Vote Kucinich
Edited on Sat Feb-28-04 11:57 PM by TheBigDemo
1) He is cute
2) He really is a Democrat
3) He is not a Member of Skull and Bones Society
4) He is the only one left in the race that voted against the war
5) He is the only one left in the race that favors gay marriage
6) His views are the future views of the party and society
7) He is from a swing state, Ohio
8) He doesn't speak with a forked tongue
9) He really cares about the country and the people
10) He isn't going to win anyway so you might as well send a clear vote at the National convention that the Democratic party is the Party of Liberal Progressive values. Not values of War, Judgement, and hatred like Republican Party.

Kucinich Rules! The rest are just acceptable alternatives to Bush.

Is a forked tongue the same as "flip-flop" , or "tailor your views to the audience?"

Great post!!:bounce: :bounce:

3. I only need one
It has nothing to do with not being Bush, nor because he is the only alternative Democrat who was ever in the race.

It is because he simply personifies the ideals, platform, and radical departure the nation, and the world, needs from the failed norms of the present and past.

There are so many more reasons to vote for DK. Hundreds more reasons to vote for DK in the primary rather than Kerry or Edwards.

21. So many reasons
If people don't care if it's Edwards or Kerry, a primary vote for Kucinich sends the message going into the convention that his ideas have support.

Vote Kucinich!

22. Right on!
For me the MOST important thing is to return the Democratic party to the PEOPLE, instead of the corporatocracy. That's why I'm hoping for a good progressive delegate block at the national convention, and THAT'S why I'm working so hard to get people to vote Kucinich this Tuesday!

Go Dennis!

26. Top Ten Reasons NOT to Vote for Kucinich
1) He's a far-left liberal with no chance of ever beating Bush in November
2) He has never been elected statewide; it's doubtful that he could beat Bush in Ohio
3) He was anti-choice until he started running for president
4) He's very, very short; short candidates never win (sad but true)
5) He's a vegan (i.e. strict vegetarian); that won't play well in farm states
6) His 'Department of Peace' proposal is a joke that would never get through Congress
7) His 'UN in, US out' proposal is also a joke; such ideas may play well on liberal college campuses, but they won't fly in November
8) He's single; no bachelor has been elected to the presidency since 1856
9) His position as leader of the far-left Progressive Caucus makes McGovern look conservative by comparison
10) His entire platform smacks of European-style socialism

If your candidate has such an insurmountable lead over other candidates, why show up on threads for other candidates spouting this trash?

37. What IS your problem?
Do you feel threatened by us Kucinich supporters?

Are you worried that our guy might take so many votes away from your guy that Kerry will lose the nomination?

Are you one of those people who feel duty-bound to rush in and damp down any fires of progressivism and radical change wherever they erupt?

I've NEVER jumped on a Kerry thread and badmouthed YOUR candidate, I'm quite content to let those who support Kerry be. But you keep jumping into Kucinich threads, full of criticism.

It seems obvious to me that you don't really "get" what we're about. Like, I'm worried that he's "too short"?!? Or worried that he's a vegan?!? HAH!!! You seem to be assuming that your opinion is superior to ours, that we somehow need YOU to enlighten us.

Well, bugger off. We DO know what we're doing. Go take care of YOUR candidate, and leave us to work for ours in peace. Start your own anti-Kucinich thread if he bugs you so much, you're not going to change the minds of those of us who are committed to real change.

42. a good swift KICK
I'm getting up early tomorrow to vote for Dennis Kucinich (and Tim McCormack, and Issues 23, 30 & 31...). Can't wait - never voted for him before. His district borders mine, but I've never lived in his.

*sigh* -- after tomorrow I'm likely to have to start holding my nose and supporting Kerry, huh? Oh well, ABB, of course. Maybe I'll learn to like the reptile.

The man states EXACTLY what he believes and isn't afraid too. However what he believes isn't what I believe so thus I can't support him, ex. "UN IN US OUT" (the UN has messed up on many occasions we screwed up the Iraq situation WE have to fix it).

50. Genuine disagreements on policy are legitimate
and welcome. We incourage everyone to discuss issues and base your vote on what you think is right. I welcome someone who recognizes Kucinich's strong points and integrety, but just disagrees on issues. No problem there - we can argue to our hearts' content - we are, after all, Democrats.
