4. It reaffirmed my belief that many DUers are more interested in being perceived...
as liberal than they are in rational thought and political analysis.

It's frightening to see so many "progressives" act like some sort of bizarro-world Ann Coulter.

7. Well, I realized what a bunch of whiny fucking drama-queen crybabies
populate this forum: "WAAAAAHHH!! Obama said something positive about a former Republican President! I'm getting the vapors, waaaaahhhhh!!!" Jesus fucking Christ, such tortured emo bullshit.

8. I don't have a candidate yet
and am watching dispassionately. I thought it was a brilliant political move. To co opt the Regan thing from the republicans after they all were trying to describe themselves as the most like him.
He has a liberal enough record. Not as liberal as I would like but eons better than anyone on theother side. He can count on most Dem votes if he gets the nomination but he will need crossover republican and indy votes.
He has run a fairly good campaign so far as has Edwards. Hillary has made some mistakes but she can recover. I an enjoying the campaigns this week.

It just convinced me that he's still dead.

Was almost gonna post a thread to that effect but couldn't be bothered to elucidate that fine point.

And I'm not referring to the Obama crew.

14. Don't call it "Reagan Day" - I think we may be in for our own "Reagan Week!"
Why, I have my own Reagan thread germinating within me. Just haven't got around to writing it yet!

15. I like the way you are directing your (intelligent) mind, LZ.
I call it like I see it and you are putting your brain to good use now.

Please, please, please keep it up and lay off the "anti-splinterist" stuff. Even the worst of us will almost certainly vote a straight Dem ticket when push comes to shove. There is no need to shove it in the "Greenie's" faces. The so-called "Progressive wing of this party is the Democratic party's soul and the Right-wing branch of it is maybe sometimes our more pragmatic side.

Keep it up, kid!

16. I am wondering about the collective conscience theory
while everyone was calling names and making accusations, another soldier died, another innocent Iraqi died, people lost their jobs, etc. etc. What a collective distraction from reality.

21. Yes. I thought Obama was more progressive than Hillary - now I know better.
Edited on Fri Jan-18-08 12:17 AM by robbedvoter
I don't know yet if this will influence my primary vote - it may be a factor. But it will determine my comfort level in voting in GE (should he be the one)

I also learned that people would go to ANY lengths (even more so than I previously thought) to safeguard their preconceived notions (such as: I don't want to read the book - it would upset me too much - I hate Reagan - and I want to support Obama)
