So what will happen to the DU after Kerry is elected President?

my understanding is that the DU was created to fight the Bush cabal. Well when Kerry wins in Nov, will we need this old forum anymore?

I'm kind of excited to see what happens,

6. 1994 will not be allowed to happen again
I hope all of us remain as enthusiastically involved in politics during a potential Kerry (or Edwards) administration as we are now.

Doing otherwise is what led to the 1994 GOP takeover that we have yet to recover from.

...JOHN EDWARDS is elected President in November 2004?

And don't even give me that 524 fewer delegates AT THIS TIME crap of an answer.

This thing will change soon, and it will change fast.

Just watch.

11. Does anyone think Republicans will just go away?

We'll need DU for vigilance - and besides, we've got much work still left to do - House, Senate, grasssroots action, etc.

12. We must remain ever vigilant against the forces of extremism
that would destroy our country. Therefore, DU should stay and continue the dialogue. Those fascist creeps are not going to just fade away. We will always need to monitor and reveal their despicable dirty tricks.

14. DU will be needed even more after a Dem is
elected president. What happened after Clinton got in following 12 years of Reagan and Bush I is that too many left leaning people breathed a sigh of relief and wrongly thought they had a friend in the White House. Little did they know how conservative Clinton was and how beholden to corporate interests he was.

Some people were thrown way off guard when Clinton and the Dems worked so hard for the passage of NAFTA and GATT. Clinton also appropriated Republican language and thought in 1996 when he pushed for welfare "reform" and booted a bunch of people off the rolls (didn't end poverty but who cares if the people are not claiming government benefits <extreme sarcasm>).

Oh yes, we will need to be vigilant. We will be the movement that keeps the candidate accountable. That is what the Republican base of evangelicals and libertarians do well. They actually hold their elected officials and leaders accountable.

to win so as to continue the success of DU? They could stand to lose allot of $$ if a Dem is elected and there is nothing to bitch about anymore.
Just a thought.

Here's the question: Will DU be full of Christians posting threads like "Why you must believe in Jesus heathen sinner" or full of Athiests posting threads like "Your religion is superstitous nonsense you mouth breather"

Which do you see here?

27. House, Senate, States & Complain
The House and/or Senate will still be in Republican hands unless there's a massive revolt in November. So there will be plenty to do to keep up with Republican shenanigans as they work against EVERYTHING that a Democratic President will do.

You don't think the Republicans will cooperate with the new President, do you? It'll be just like Clinton. The attacks will start the day the new guy moves into the White House.

Plus there will be plenty of whining and complaining about what Kerry/Edwards is/is not doing.

Democratic Underground will have plenty of traffic...
