I wasn't happy with Biden and Dodd dropping out, but was really upset with Richardson giving up.... *sigh* Next I'd like to see a race somewhere with Kucinich near the lead :)

:sarcasm:

Edwards is 27%, Obama 32%, margin of error 4.5%. That's a
statistical tie.

So how is that up is down and black is white, especially
for a candidate that the pundits -- George Will for example
-- are already trying to figure out who he's going to give
his delegates to?

Nice try.

52. NEVADA DEBATE
Edwards was very strong tonight, especially on Iraq. No permanent bases, imagine that! Leave it to Brian Williams & Timmeh to try to focus on race/gender in the beginning. All the candidates were anxious to get past that, and I salute them all for that.

Too much time with Hillary IMHO, but Edwards did very, very well.

See y'all Friday at the "Processing Funds" booth. Whatta rush!

58. We don't HAVE our HOPES up...
Edited on Wed Jan-16-08 02:10 AM by stickernation
We have FAITH, damkira. It's fun. You should try it. At this point, it's like Google stock - Edwards is just going to be going up and up in the delegate count and the polls, right on into the White House. That is my belief. It's hard not to whoop and yell when your candidate is doing your opinions and perspectives proud.

Edwards may just win in Nevada after his performance tonight, on the Yucca Mountain issue alone, let alone his many other strengths and the sheer weakness of the other candidates in stating the obvious that it's time to withdraw from Iraq among other things.

Win or lose, Edwards is a strategic fighter. The clear distinction on the point of building further nuclear plants - a progressive touchstone - has made him the hero of thousands of seasoned activists nationwide. I sell stickers to a lot of them. He has he has now enlisted a slumbering army of anti-nuke activists that are going to tear into the Clinton and especially Obama waffling. These people will fight consistently for Edwards and will do more canvassing than an army of ClintonObama supporters - for indeed, the "big two" has only one hope remaining, to effect a MERGER at this point.

Edwards supporters have warned Obama to take stronger progressive stances or have their feet held to the fire, and at this debate it was clear that this waffling renders him unelectable. Clinton is a known conservative quantity on this and many other issues. The choice between Clinton and Edwards one-on-one is clear. There is no doubt that Edwards supporters will turn out in droves for Clinton or Obama should either win the Democratic race. We are also realistic enough to know that this is a difficult state to poll, that this is only one poll of certainly many we will see post-debate, etc. But we shall overcome both your cynicism and the wisdom of the mediocre mass media, like the INCREDIBLY AND DISTURBINGLY BIASED NEW YORK TIMES WRITEUP OF THE DEBATE which I am reading right now, causing me to edit this message in outrage at the mainstream media's blackout of the substance of John Edwards' points tonight. CONSPIRACY THEORY ALERT - look into the writings of the article's authors, Patrick Healy and Jeff Zeleny !!! What you will find is a nonstop litany of Clinton vs. Obama, Obama vs. Clinton - a CLEAR record of distortion emanates from a mere scan of their headlines !!!

Regardless of the outcome, we are proud of our candidate, hopefully you are of yours, such pride is not a zero-sum game. However Edwards supporters tonight can bask in the sense a memetic groundswell - a tide that is turning in his favor that cannot be stopped by McCain or whoever else the Repugnicans vomit up this fall. Simultaneously, we see and we hope the more excellent of the Obama and Clinton supporters will see the fundamental flaws of anti-progressivism, corporate support and issue vagueness in their own candidates, and see that the money and time they have spent on their respective candidates to date is wasted. This is no VP candidate we're talking here. Please join us in our support of John Edwards.

After reading the Reno News Gazette comments on this same poll it is obvious that a large portion of the Nevada Democratic electorate will speak their mind in these caucuses, and these comments seem certain (along with me) that only Edwards can take it to the next level. To us who have supported Edwards since 2004, we have only seen his stock rise in the time that we held it. His gains in votes will be exponential compared to the meager returns you have found in your candidate. Your certainty in declaring your winner must be psychological in nature - it's THAT bitter and to this optimist so vile and acidic. But I would love to hear you spill out your certainty and challenge my faith, let's hear it.

My prayer is that Edwards wins here, thus making the first three states a 3-way tie for the THREE front-runners. If that doesn't level the playing field in the eyes of the MSM, nothing will.

No inevitability! Go, Johnny, go!
