Michigan Primary means very little...so should I vote in the Republican Primary?
I could vote uncommitted and if there is at least 15% of voters do that do, then these delegates would choose whoever they want to support at the DNC.

I am thinking of letting John McCain know that he lost a lot of cross-over voters because he chose to help * get re-elected in 2004. Plus...if Romney does get the nomination maybe he would try to help this sorry state get new jobs since he was raised here.

Choices .....mmmmmm

5. I Don't Want To Vote Uncommitted nor for Kucinich!
Edited on Mon Jan-14-08 07:34 PM by Jokinomx
Uncommitted is allowing someone else to vote for someone I may not want.

Kucinich... a great man but cannot win the nomination.

It was my beloved Democrats who messed this years primary up. We were assured that none of this stuff would happen....

but it did.....

9. you can't vote in the republican primary in Florida
Only registered republicans can vote in the republican primary and only registered democrats can vote in the democratic primary. Those with no party affiliation can't vote in the primary. It is too late to switch your registration -- it has to be a month in advance.

On the other hand, all the candidates are on the ballot in Florida. I don't know why. I suppose the timing was different and it was too late to remove names from the Florida ballot when the candidates were asked to remove their names from the Michigan ballot.

11. I know what your saying.....but...
Damn...I wanted to vote for Edwards. I can't help how I feel... as a Democrat in Michigan I am upset that our Michigan Democratic Party chose to risk that this would happen.

And I AM afraid for the next 8 years. That is why I want to vote against McCain! He is 71 years old! He would start showing signs of Alz.... in his first term!

15. Actually it was a republican, Mike Bishop, who initiated the legis. to change
the primary date. It was intended to give Romney a leg up. The DNC went above and beyond the current rules to punish Michigan. Edwards had the option to become a write in candidate but did not sign up.

There are national party politics at work friend. Contrary to the spin, the lack of information, the wrong information all over the internet....there have been options for each of the candidates to be on the ballot. They let us down those of us who wanted a different choice(s).

But that's the way the cookie crumbles. Vote for a democrat, unless you can stomach all the republican literature you'll receive for the next 12 years.

8. Phone call I just received....

I live in Michigan and just received one of those automated phone calls.

It said (not exact, but very close) "Since there is no democratic primary tomorrow, all democrats, republicans, and independents will be voting in the republican primary." And then it asked me to press 1 if I was voting for McCain, 2 for Romney, etc.

I'm pissed. This is totally false. I stayed on the line without pressing anything hoping a human would show up, so I could find out where the call came from, but it didn't happen....the automated person just said I took too long to answer.

The caller id said both name and number unavailable.

12. Yeah...I think I got that one yesterday...
I pushed the button for Romney and when it asked if I was "more" or "less" likely that I would vote for him knowing Romney had raised taxes by $700,000,000.00 as Gov. of Mass. LOL I chose more likely to vote for him and they automaton hung up on me. :-)

17. Follow KOS's suggestion and vote for Mittens
Kos has a good idea of all Democrats voting for Mittens because he is the weakest candidate and needs a victory. A mitten's victory means more negative ads by one republican against the other republicans and that is clearly a good thing.
