4. VeeP
Because the VeeP is another way of saying "Political Purgatory"

The fact that Edwards isnt particularly well versed in foreign policy or Washington politics for that matter doesnt really preclude him from being a VeeP...

In 2012 Edwards can run for Prez with a two-term VeePship under his belt will which make him much more versed in the games of politics and foreign affairs.

But yeah, hes an Attorney General.

7. do you really need to base VP on anything?
it's not a position with really much responsibility.

If he doesn't win the nomination, then Attorney General would be the position where Edwards has the most policy influence.

11. his experience on the Senate judiciary committee
and fighting to keep bush's right wing, anti-choice, anti-civil rights judges out of life-time positions on the Federal circuit makes him qualified in my opinion.

Further, his role in the Clinton impeachment is further qualification.

10. He would also be well suited for Solicitor General
It's not as high-profile as Attorney General, but it would provide him plenty of opportunity to do what he does well: conduct litigation.

13. Has anyone noticed it's the same Edwards-bashers in every thread?
jpgpenn, cryingshame, and a few others, but almost all of them are former Clark supporters...

Newsflash: Clark's campaign demonstrated he is not ready for prime time. He needs to work on his speaking skills (stop reading his speeches) and learn the game of politics before he is ready for the national stage.

is not qualified for ANY position - but just under half the people who went to the polls in '00 voted for him anyway.

Edwards has more qualifications for any position in the executive branch, including President, than GW Bush* has for dog catcher.

Kerry's years and years and years of being in DC are actually a DISqualifier, in my book. He's part of the problem. The problem being - the longer a politician squats in DC - the more she/he has forgotten what daily life out among the people is like.

Back to Edwards' qualifications - IF Kerry actually succeeds in getting elected - he can partially redeem himself by making John Edwards his first appointment to the Supreme Court.

“You know, there are different kinds of refugees. There are people who are forced to take refuge under a railroad bridge because they ain’t got noplace else to go, and there are those who take refuge in public office.” Woody Guthrie - quote added on edit
