. . .and GOP-Consultant Driven Al Sharpton 2/27

I thought he added an urgent, strong anti-b*, and progressive message last night.

1. You're not missing anything.
BuzzFlash has this idea Sharpton is a paid GOP disruptor. Me, I wonder about BuzzFlash because of that idea.

4. I like Sharpton, but...
it's in the interest of the R's to have him do well, and to keep down the African-American vote in the general election.

And the enemy of my enemy is my friend.

6. This strategy is too clever by half, IMHO.
The Repugs may just be helping Rev Al get out the black vote for the Democrats. You can bet Al will be on the stump for the Dems after a nominee is selected.

8. Nope
From the Village Voice Article:

"Sharpton recently rebuffed an appeal by DNC chair Terry McAuliffe to join a post-primary March 25 event to support the nominee, sending a letter saying he would attend but would also "continue to campaign vigorously until the last day of the convention." He has also repeatedly vowed that he would speak on prime-time TV during the July convention, saying party leaders would decide "whether that's inside the hall or out in the parking lot," threatening demonstrations unless granted exposure guaranteed to turn off many voters. Stone terminated a 45-minute Voice interview shortly after he was asked about any involvement he might have had with the letter to McAuliffe, saying he was "not characterizing my conversations with Sharpton," though he freely did in a recent Times interview."

7. The potential damage of this
is that Sharpton can make the Democrats look like hypocrites, insincere, using and taking advantage of minorities and those who are discriminated against. After all, Democrats need their votes, but won't take a strong stand for them.

And Bush, in the mean time, can waltz in and say, "I'll pray for you." And that will seal the vote for those minorities who happen to be religious...
