3. Yeah
the best way to get change is to act in a manner that ensures NO change. Good plan.

4. For the record, I voted for the third one.
As angry as I am, I AM going to drag myself to the GE polls. But if I don't see some kind of substance from Kerry (if he wins, which I doubt that he will), I'm finished with this party. For good.

And I think I'm being very fair, here. Probably too fair already.

5. Remember: a lot of people in the US are afraid of Kerry
because of the opposite reason: they think he's too left, that he's a rabid Fonda lovin' commie who hates the military.

Who's right, who's wrong? It's subjective, BGL.

PS: reposted from the other thread.

6. RKZ, the thing that ABBer's are missing here is that this has
nothing to do with "right and left." I'm not a leftist- I'm a moderate social liberal and I lean more in the conservative direction when it comes to finances- I'm for very high taxes for the rich, but I'm for low spending. I think our budget oughta be balanced every single frickin' year.

This election is about leadership. It's about standing up to Bush. It's about character and courage, and knowing what hill to die on.

Even as a centrist I EASILY saw through Bush's push for war- among other things. Bush's entire term has been propaganda and lies. And through it all our leadership has, for the most part, refused to call him on it. And it's been for no reason other than fear.

I just want someone with a pair in the White House. We want someone that has faith in themselves, and US, representing us. I'm not going to tolerate this crap anymore- because the lies and propaganda will NOT stop even if we get in the White House. Will Rush stop? Will Drudge stop? Will Savage stop? No. They're shaping our culture, and the only way to counter that is through opposing leadership.

It's time to grow a pair.

To hold Kerry responsible. It's up to the people of a democracy (what little of it is left)to hold the leader's feet to the fire. I just want to make sure that that leader is a DEM because it's apparent that Bush is too occluded.

And hopefully, with the base as enegized as it is, there will be a shake up and possible retaking of the Senate, which will help get more rogressive legislation passed.

Everyday, we're seeing signs that the beast is awakening....If Kerry wins, and is indeed a milquetoast rolloverandplaydead Dem as president, I will be just as fucking torked off as you are right now. And I will be calling for a mass defection from the party too, so that we may shape it according to anti-corporate templates. But for today, I will remain cautiously optimistic.

And frankly, I'm tired of haranguing people for this stuff. I feel like an asshole. Vote how you wanna, it's not my decision......But if Bush does get another four years, I will be mighty pissed....

8. I see so you are for low spending but want a system that does
provide healthcare, you want a system that DOES provide for the poor and you want a system that does create renewable energy so that we can loosen the grip of our dependency for oil, you want a system where social security and medicare will be there and a system that actually educates people, paves roads and does this all for 300 million people.

10. Yes, in particular the renewable energy part.
If we do that one thing, we'll be rollin'. That would make us a lot of money, in the long run.

There are plenty of places to cut, including defense spending and corporate welfare. Also, if we fixed our health care system so that corporations weren't fleecing us we could save billions upon billions. That, combined with sky-high taxes on the rich should be enough.

9. Southerners just bin waitin' for the RIGHT rich Boston Leftie to back
All that past stuff don't mean nothin'.

Just cuz listenin' to the base fucked us in '72, '84, and '88 don't mean diddly.

Don't go with the candidate who's got the best chance, go with the one everyone else's going with.

Everything's different now. None of that counts. Just 'cuz shrill, combative candidates ALWAYS lose doesn't mean Dean isn't a winner. Just cuz Adlai Stevenson got his ass kicked doesn't have any bearing on Kerry. It just doesn't. Charisma's overrated; just ask Al Gore.

History schmistry; that's for people who pay attention to that kinda crap.

14. This pollis for simpletons
who don't realize that there is a range of change. It goes from absolutely the same to radically different. The question isn't "Will anything change?"

Something ALWAYS changes.

The question is "What will change, how much will it change, and will that change be for the better?"
