Shouldn't Kerry start mentioning Bush's dirty tricks?
The Bushies and their proxies have already tried an intern scandal and a doctored photo. I think Kerry should be putting Bush on notice that we are watching for dirty tricks. Then the media will be sensitized to the issue and every dirty trick that emerges will raise questions. Was the Bush campaign behind it? Do they disavow and condemn it?

We should be preemptive here or Rove is going to do what he did to McCain and Gore. These Bushies don't play fair. Let's get people watching for fouls.

1. We should fight fire with more fire!!
I heard a good tale last week-end at Camp Wellstone. It concerned a Senate campaign LBJ was in.

Johnson told an aide to release a statement that his opponent was havig sex with the pigs on his ranch.

The aide said "thats not true!"

Johnson replied " I know, but I just want to hear him deny it!":wtf:

2. that's what concerns me about Kerry is that he seems kind of weak
on highlighting the dirty tricks of the Bush campaign.

3. Its not Kerry's job to do the dirty work. That is what others are for
Kerry wants to appear to be above the fray for some reason. I bet for some damn good reason.

4. We really should.
Micro-managing Kerry's campaign by INTERNET forums must be a good idea, because you thought of it. Send Kerry an email,I will bet he will take your advice.

5. KaPow!! awesome buckeye.
His campaign and the media may have overlooked the possibility. We might also suggest they think about asking people to vote for them.

6. So I think you are saying it's a bad idea.

I missed your reason why though. Not that you don't have one. :eyes: I'll bet most of your other posts are just as insightful and clever.

It's just brainstorming, not micro-managing. I'm now for Kerry as I was for Gore. I just don't want to see him go down the path of being too much of a gentleman to call Bush/Rove on dirty tricks.

Other more thoughtful posts than yours (hard to be less) have pointed out that Kerry wants to be above the fray. I'll bet that's true. I'm just questioning that, not micro-managing -- your brilliant, acerbic wit notwithstanding.

8. Kerry would be attracting a lot of attention to them doing so.
The political debate is not a judgment of who is in the right all the time. I think LBJ while he was running for re-election as a TX Senator once tried to spread rumors about his opponent having an affair. Whether it was true or not (it wasn't), he said "let him try to deny it."

Kerry's supporters among the party and the public are doing a good enough job fighting back those ridiculous charges right now. Kerry himself should only mention these attacks if only necessary.

9. Every DUer and Every Dem
must also write letters to the editor of the newspapers across the country to support our ideals and our candidates. We can't sit back and take it like we did in 2000. ALL of us have to fight back.

I have no worries about Kerry not fighting back.
