The Clintons attempt to suppress the vote in Nevada....Where is the outrage?
Can't wait to see how the Hillary supporters defend this one. Suppressing the vote....Just how low can they go?

Teachers Sue to Block Hotel Workers’ Union Vote in Nevada Caucus
By STEVE FRIESS
LAS VEGAS — Nevada’s state teachers union and six Las Vegas area residents filed a lawsuit late Friday that could make it harder for many members of the state’s huge hotel workers union to vote in the hotly contested Jan. 19 Democratic caucus in Nevada.

The 13-page lawsuit in federal district court here comes two days after the 60,000-member Culinary Workers Union Local 226 in Nevada endorsed Senator Barack Obama, a blow to Mrs. Clinton. Mr. Obama addressed the Culinary Union at their hall earlier Friday.

The lawsuit argues that the Nevada Democratic Party’s decision, decided late last year, to create at-large precincts inside nine Las Vegas resorts on caucus day violates the state’s election laws and creates a system in which voters at the at-large precincts can elect more delegates than voters at other precincts. The lawsuit employs a complex mathematical formula to show that voters at the other 1,754 precincts would have less influence with their votes.

The at-large precincts are being established because thousands of hotel workers cannot leave work to participate in the midday caucuses in their home precincts...

which clearly said:

Only someone reading with prejudice could see "unclear" and hear "obviously"

42. Here, juajen
The state party quickly dismissed the lawsuit. Going back to last spring, every presidential campaign was involved in setting up the unusual casino caucus sites while state party officials and the Democratic National Committee ironed out the details. "This is a fair, legal and proper way to choose delegates under established law and legal precedent that has been reviewed by attorneys....The time for comment or complaint has passed," the party said in a statement.

29. Actually, I'm impressed-- it's a masterful bit of...
planning. Dirty business, of course, but it's only recently that we've bothered to condemn politicians for being politicans.

It takes longer than two days to put together a lawsuit like this, so I imagine someone had it sitnng on the pot for months just waiting to see if it was needed. The teachers aren't endorsing anyone, but some of their leaders are openly for Clinton. Hmmmm...

So, "What did she know, and when did she know it?"

(It's gonna be SO much fun on the 5th when we got all those states to look under the mattresses in.)

46. I've never seen the Clintons play dirty politics.
I've seen them play smart politics, and tough politics, and wimpy politics, sometimes even stupid politics, but I've never seen them actually DO anything wrong as public servants.

I've seen thousands of people (especially rich, conservative republicans and mainstream journalists) ACCUSE them of doing wrong, but being accused of something means nothing unless an offense can be proved. Otherwise, it might be the ACCUSERS who are the true malefactors.

Personally, I think Ken Starr, Richard Sciafe, Dan Burton, Tom DeLay, the Hunt Brothers, etc., etc., etc. -- the great majority of Clinton accusers -- are less worthy human beings than Bill and Hillary are.

Being accused of, even persecuted for crimes, does not mean a person is truly guilty of them. They crucified Jesus on false pretenses, didn't they?

Oh, the Clintons can be tricky, slippery, even a little duplicitous when they have to be, but how can they be otherwise and survive amidst their uncountable enemies with their unquenchable bloodlust?

But, IMHO, the Clintons are about as honest a pair of politicians as America has ever had.

Prove me wrong if you can.

With something besides accusation and innuendo.

44. This is a Clinton campaign strategy being carried out by surrogates
Union Files Suit Over Casino Caucuses

The suit was widely expected by state party officials as well as Obama's campaign and the powerful Culinary Workers Union 226, which earlier this week endorsed the Illinois senator in advance of the Jan. 19 Nevada caucus. That endorsement had been eagerly sought by Obama as well as Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) and former senator John Edwards (D-N.C.), and by yesterday afternoon culinary union leaders told the Washington Post they expected an outside group with ties to Clinton to file a motion seeking to quash the casino caucuses.

The Nevada State Education Association, some of whose top leaders have individually endorsed Clinton, filed the suit and is using a law firm with close ties to the onetime front-runner, Kummer, Kaempfer, Bonner, Renshaw, and Ferrario. Former congressmen James H. Bilbray (D-Nev.), a lawyer at that firm, has endorsed Clinton and is stumping for her in the Silver State.

I hope it creates enough outrage out in Nevada to make the whole thing backfire and get the suit dropped before the caucus. Waiting until the last second to file such a lawsuit is clearly someone wanting to play dirty, affiliation to a candidate's campaign or not.
