Clinton looks for votes, gets marriage proposal

Hillary Clinton looked shocked by one young man's question Friday.

WASHINGTON (CNN) — Voters ask a lot of the nation’s White House hopefuls, but Democrat Hillary Clinton looked particularly taken aback by a request from one attendee at a Friday campaign event in the Los Angeles area.

"Hillary, marry me, baby," a man yelled at the New York senator as she finished her economic address and prepared to take questions.

The crowd erupted in laughter, and Clinton looked genuinely shocked as she turned to face the questioner. "That is certainly the kindest offer I've had in a while," Clinton said to loud cheers. But she added immediately, "I'd probably be arrested."

Clinton visited delegate-rich California — one of the more than two dozen states to vote February 5 — to lay her economic stimulus package....

3. That look on her face is priceless!
You don't get looks like this from most Republican candidates; they lack the spontaneity to be surprised (altho Mitt does a great "flustered about not getting the joke" blanching stare).

10. She is funny.
"You hurt my feelings" has already been used by Zogby and Dobbs on Jon Stewart, but they both looked like idiots. It is gonna stick, and that's not a bad thing...

11. :)
off topic - where did this phrase "delegate-rich" come from. It sounds like a natural resource or nutrition thing. What happened to populous, or simply "with more delegate" or "with a lot of delegates".

Are the other states delegate-poor? And if so, what are we going to do about it??!!

16. Interesting question. I've heard it so much, I don't even think about it.
In fact, it would be interesting to know where all of the catch phrases we hear in campaign coverage came from. We know, for example, where red state and blue state came from, that being relatively recent and referencing the maps on TV. But the old ones -- I don't know.

20. I watched it on C-Span and she did look shocked!!
She handled it well by making a joke out of it. Everyone laughed and she proceeded to answer questions from the audience.
