A brokered convention: Al Gore the nominee?
OK, maybe I'm just dreaming here, but if the party arrives in Denver fractured between Clinton and Obama, looking for someone to rally around who has both the gravitas to unite the party and win the election -- could the convention turn to Gore?

I am beginning to wonder if there isn't some possibility of this happening since Clinton and Obama may split the delegates fairly evenly, with Edwards holding a small pool of them. I can't think of anyone who would be more acceptable to all three camps.

3. I did vote for Gore..way back
I didn't get my President yet.
This time would satisfy the cheating we took in 2000. however.

4. That's a nice thought to me, but I believe
it's more likely the top two finishers will unite with the second place candidate running as V.P.

5. ROFL!!
I've been waiting for this post! The one talking about how Gore will ride into the convention on a white horse, his jeweled robes glistening, to save the world from itself.

GIVE IT UP PEOPLE!

A brokered convention is only going to make it more difficult to win in November no matter who the nominee is. Obama is better at uniting the party than Gore ever was.

9. Largely because Al Gore empowered the people when he
championed opening up the Internet for them and as the Internet grew in power and influence, the corporate media came to resent him for it, so they slandered, libeled and slimed him relentlessly. Anyone can be demonized by the corporate media, should they decide to do so. It's like they say no good deed goes unpunished.

11. Yes, everyone can be slandered by the corporate media
Not everyone can earn good media coverage despite being progressive and build widespread support in spite of strong opposition.

13. Nothing has empowered the people so much as the Internet.
I'm sure Obama has a good progressive record but it pales in comparison to giving the people a voice around the one way megaphones owned by the corporate media, since the advent of television.

I believe Al Gore gave the most to the people, hence he paid the heaviest price and Obama hasn't faced anywhere near the opposition by the corporate media that Al Gore has.

10. So, in a brokered convention, we end up nominating a man that zero Democrats voted for?
Unlikely.

16. NO...if anything, as it stands now, Edwards throws in with Hillary or Obama
unless things change for him first.
