In the delegate-rich state of NY, Hillary leads Obama by 27% (new poll)
Wow. I thought that after being endorsed by Oprah and having won Iowa, Obama would have convinced many New Yorkers that he's the best choice. Apparently not, according to a new SUSA poll conducted Jan. 9-10.

Hillary leads there 56%-29%, with Edwards in third with 8% of the preference.

Good news for Hillary.

7. I don't think t he huge margin is a "duh".
Hillary being on top is a "duh", but the large margin isn't. Can't Obama shrink the lead at least a bit in NY?

32. I think the huge margin is a "duh." And maybe New Yorkers know that a Hillary nomination
gets Bloomberg in the mix. If 9iu11iani gets the nom, and would be every New Yorker's dream come true.

35. Well, if she's such a right wing neocon, one would think that Liberal NY would know her best
Edited on Fri Jan-11-08 03:40 PM by Lirwin2
and therefore want to get rid of her. Apparently those who know her best as a politician, love her.

36. Not this liberal New Yorker
She certainly will not be getting my vote. When I vote for Democrats I like them to actually BE Democrats. But it's hardly surprising that she's leading her semi-home state.

Stop pretending this is some sort of unexpected accomplishment for Hillary.

10. What do you think about the huge lead that hasn't shrunk?
Wasn't it supposed to shrink now that Obama has won a state and has received an endorsement from Oprah?

It's not like New Yorkers are blindly voting for Hillary.

33. WE all know you're suddenly an HRC supporter for two reasons
1. To make HRC look bad, and

2 You can trash all the other candidates

I for one am a REAL HRC supporter, and your game is noticed and wore thin ages ago.

34. This person is desperate for attention. Kinda sad they beg for it
on the internet. Last night they wanted to know how the candidates

would help college students, under the guise that they would soon be attending.

After several people dug it all up for them, they couldn't even bother to respond.:eyes:

Hillary is very popular in New York.

Similarly, Obama will win Illinois by a shitload.

Obama supporters are pretending to have been aware of Obama's inability to cut Hillary's lead in NY before this poll.
You know you thought the lead had shrunk.

9. As everybody has said
She's a senator there. She's popular. It's been a given for a while now that she will take New York by a wide margin.

If Obama wins California, it doesn't matter however.

So it would be quite an accomplishment for Obama to even be this close.

19. Well my one vote wouldn't have mattered anyway
but I could at least have made it infinitesimally closer for Edwards. However I just found out today - avtually less than an hour ago - that there's no chance my registration (filed with my DL application) will be processed in time for the primary. They quote a 60 day lead time and I moved here less than a month back.

I could probably get an absentee ballot in NE. I think I'll call them and see. By already filing the registation in another state they may kick me out and I'll be voteless. Pity, but I doubt it will matter in either state. I just don't like missing votes.

24. NY awards delegates by congressional district
He doesn't have to win the state to get a lot of delegates, just the congressional districts in the cites. I think his campaign is forecasting getting 40% of the delegates.

Hillary won NH, which eliminated Obama's bump. Nice try at spinning this as some kind of victory.
