Change is coming to America : Recession
Whoever the Democratic nominee will is, the environment today may be very different to November 2008. Six months ago, the sub-mortgage fiasco was limited to housing circles. Three moths ago the talk was around the banks. Today the Fed is talking about aggressively cutting interest rates.

Of the top three candidates, perhaps Hillary has the most to gain, and Edwards the most to lose. Who cares how polarizing a candidate is if the economy is falling through the floor. Who cares how black a guy is when businesses are going belly up, left right and center. Who cares about lobbyists when the fruits of influence are bitter indeed.

A recession is the last thing anyone would wish on the American people. A husband or wife coming home without a job. Children stressed and distraught. But for all Du's gloom and doom - it's still the economy stupid.

1. Whoever wins ...
We should at least unite in a major, worthwhile cause:

To deliver to the Republican Party a crushing defeat on the order of the recent Canadian election where the Conservative Party went from a comfortable majority down to THREE MPs.

Even if the GOP then regains a lot of its territory over two or three elections, it will at least destroy the thug mentality which has taken over the party.

The only thing that's going to bring the Conservatives back to their senses and democracy is a painful defeat of the Reagan-era guard.

2. Agreed: a landslide would give 2 years of real change
and if the economy is not spiraling down, we should be grateful. Real people, real lives.

In many ways I would love to see some of these self serving rich people get a come uppin in a ressession/ depression. Many have lost their soul to money and would slit their own mother's throat for their rich lifestyle. Maybe that is what this country needs to in order to see people start to care about other people again. Except by what they gain finacially. I wouldn't want it for the poor people or middle class however..as they have struggled enough.
