Edited on Thu Jan-10-08 11:09 PM by usregimechange
why get upset when we see it?

Have you ever got upset at a 3 year old for being irresponsible? What the hell for? They are 3! Do you expect that everyone should treat you fairly? What kind of BS is that? Half the people you meet everyday won't treat you fairly, so why get upset when people act like people? Do fundamentalists drive you nuts? What the hell do you expect! Reason?

If you are mad at DUers for losing their respect, good communication, and togetherness during the %^%$ primaries, it isn't immature DU partisans that have made you mad, its your irrational unrealistic belief that it would be any different!

In the movie Thirteen Days, Kevin Costner plays JFK's special assistant. After Kennedy comes out of a meeting with the Pentagon war hawks he is extremely mad as they are wanting him to escalate to a nuclear holocaust. Costner notices Kennedy is pissed and says: "What did you expect them to do bend over and kiss your Catholic ass?"

2. When my children were three
and acted out in ways that were disruptive, annoying or dangerous, I didn't ignore them. I didn't smile and look the other way figuring they would become responsible, self assured, compassionate and principled young adults on their own.
That isn't being responsible- or an appropriate response to bad behavior.

Civility and common decency don't have to go out the window simply because it's "primary" season. Tolerating bad behavior is giving it unspoken approval.

We aren't in a movie- We aren't playing 'roles'-

I believe we are better than what has been demonstrated here of late. On all sides.

It isn't people acting like people that bothers me- It's people acting like jerks, and being applauded for doing so.

peace~
blu

8. You must have read what I wrote cross-eyed. I didn't say ignore
bad behavior, I said if immature bahavior occurs in immature people, it wouldn't make sense for you to become emotionally disturbed by it.

11. Again, we should not tolerate bad behavior but not let it cause us to
react emotionally ourselves.

14. Been thinking the same thing lately. I took a 3 1/2 year break from this place
That is how long it took me to get over the arguments of the last election. You know what else I have noticed.

1. Whenever one candidate wins the supporters of other candidate go crazy.
2. People can go either way when their candidate wins.
3. You can feel very alone in your support for your candidate until they win and then the supporters come out of the woodwork.
4. An ignore list of 2-3 people can clear up the whole thing.

Also, it's been long enough that I recognize names but I forget who people were for last time. But there are a few who were nasty 4 years ago and still are!
