6. Money. A good organization.
In spite of the Mormon thing, he's the candidate most palatable to Republican voters.

11. Hasn't gotten him much so far.

He had the most money and the best organization in both New Hampshire and Iowa.

Btw, he is not the most palatable to Republican voters. The Republican Party's voting muscle is the lower income social conservatives and they don't like him at all. He had a 36% unfavorable rating in New Hampshire, arguably what should have been his best state.

9. I honestly do not know
The Reagan Coalition is built on three important groups Fiscal Conservatives, Social Conservatives and the precursor of Neo-coservatives

All three croups have a candidate and none of them appeal to the other elements. I think it is foing to take multiple ballots and I do not know where it ends up
Watch the variety of opionions emerg on this thread. O bet you know one gets 45%

17. I am Afraid It May be Fuckabee
and even if it isn't, McCain may pick Fuckabee as VP to appease the Fundies, which would make him President in a year or two after the old geezer kicks it.

Hoping it's Mittens, because he's not so dangerous and he's a lot more beatable.

18. It's real hard to find a winner in that whole sorry lot.
And the worse their nominee is, the greater the likelihood that the GOP turn-out will be sub-optimal.

And we'd be real pleased to have as many independents as we can get our paws on.

20. Depends on Who is Counting the Votes
Expect 100-150% Repig turnout in precincts where the Repiglicans get to count the votes, just like in 2004.
