Edited on Thu Jan-10-08 10:09 PM by Magic Rat
Would He Take the Independent vote that might go to a republican or the independent vote that might go to a Democrat?

1. Only a deeply confused or ignorant progressive would vote Paul
His domestic and social policies are far more evil than his foreign policies are good.

7. while I like his positions on ending the war on drugs and the war
in Iraq, he has the fatal flaw of being a neo-confederate racist, a creationist/Christian nation reactionary and an economic whack job, so I doubt he would get very many democratic leaning voters.

9. He ended up not doing well in Independent Live Free or Die New Hampshire--
that does not bode well for our favorite little libertarian in terms of an Indie run.

10. Your poll is flawed from the outset.
It should read as follows:

"If Ron Paul Was A Turd Party Candidate, Would His Bullshit Be Easier To Flush?"

11. I can make a liberal argument for Ron Paul
It is pretty clear that government at the national level will never go very far left. There is no path at all for example at the national level to get single payer health care.

Ron Paul would cut the military and all kinds of government programs. This would leave much more resources for the states. It would make it possible for some states to adopt single payer health care, or a high speed railroad.

As for votes, Ron Paul would get votes from those able to think outside the box which would probably be Democratic votes before Republican votes.

I do not know the details of the racism charges against Ron Paul but from what I have read on the internet, there is not much substance. Of course, Ron Paul's anti federal government program would let state governments that tend to be racist more sway. This is the honest racism argument against Ron Paul.

I do not support Ron Paul, but the above I believe is a an honest outline of his position. I personally would be sorely tempted to vote for Ron Paul since he wants to cut the military which would be a great huge benefit for this country.

I do not see the point of insulting Ron Paul like the above posts. An honest discussion of politics keeps people like Bush out of power. A dishonest discussion like the posts above elect the Bush people of the world.

14. There is no rational liberal argument for Ron Paul
The charges of racism are real. Do just a little more research.

He is a POS of the first degree.

Fuck him and everyone that would support him. They are NOT liberals.

15. I need to see the whole newsletter to make a judgement
These snippets from these newsletters are just pure and simple dishonest.

I could damn the New York Times with little snippets taken over the years especially if I focused on the editorial section.

16. Look for yourself. It's easy, really.
Although I believe there is no amount of evidence to change the minds of those who are unwilling to see.

Ron Paul is damned by his own words. Read them.

Whether you choose to listen speaks volumes as to the person that you are.

12. Well, he's 100% more in favor of civil liberties than the other GOP candidates...
I was rooting for him to win the GOP nom. Yes, he's old and reactionary, but he'd be better than any of the others.

13. Paultards are flooding Fox News in text message polling to say he won the debate!
35% for Paul vs. no more than 20% for any of the others!
