I have a complaint against Obama! I wanted to check his positions on a list of different things,
so I goggled "Obama". I got a list of websites, several labeled as Campaign for President sites. Each on I clicked on I wold have had to enter my email addy & zip code before I could check the info on the site. I DON'T LIKE THAT! I don't WANT emails from his campaign...or any other campaign for that matter. If I decide to donate to someone, I will make the decision to do so WITHOUT constant pleadings for MONEY!

NO other candidate's web site that I visited forced you to do that, and damn it, I don't like it.

1. You didn't have to enter that info
All you had to do was click the "continue to the web site" link at the bottom. :-)

22. Perhaps you were at the wrong site
There are probably a number of sites popping up, hoping to capitalize in his success.

His real site is BarackObama.com

Accept no substitute. :hi:

14. Thanks for the link, but it didn't have any of the answers I was looking for.
Here's my list:

Has the candidate committed to reverse all of "W"'s Presidential Directives?

Has the candidate committed to always utilize the FISA Court before spying on any Americans?

What kind of SCOTUS nominees would they recommend?

Has the candidate committed to restoring Habeus Corpus?

What is their position on "free speech zones"?

What changes would they recommend to bring manufacturing jobs back to the US?

There are certainly other questions, but those are very important to me. I've just begun to do my individual research on each of the 3 remaining candidates. I'm not swayed by personality or big crowds. I'm so very disgusted with what has happened to our Country in the last 7 years, and I want to know UP FRONT what the next President is going to do. So far NONE of them have done a damn thing to push for paper ballots...something that could affect All OF THEM! I'm sick of being told what the candidates THINK I want to hear, and I'm getting a little tired of the "CHANGE" word! ANYBODY will "change" things from what Shrub has and is still doing. WHAT exactly do they mean by "CHANGE"?

3. You Don't Have To Enter An Email At barackobama.com
Just click on "continue to web site". The page is a little obnoxious, though.

8. Do you visit regularly?
It's got a cookie set, I don't know how many days. If you visit regularly, you don't get the email request. Or at least, that's how it works on my computer.

10. Yes, sometimes I get it and sometimes I don't.
There's always a link to bypass it though, it's not mandatory. I didn't give my email address until I donated to the campaign a few weeks ago.

I'm on the email list and I get it once in a while too. I've never had to sign up again to bypass the sign-up.

11. I imagine thousands have been caught in that net.I used this link below but he leaves out his actual
positions on many things, like reproductive rights. Speaks in generalities. His home page reminds me of a fundraising televangist. I will give you hope and you will send me money.

13. Reproductive rights

http://my.barackobama.com/page/content/womenissues

REPRODUCTIVE CHOICE
Supports a Woman’s Right to Choose:
Barack Obama understands that abortion is a divisive issue, and respects those who disagree with him. However, he has been a consistent champion of reproductive choice and will make preserving women’s rights under Roe v. Wade a priority as President. He opposes any constitutional amendment to overturn the Supreme Court's decision in that case.

Preventing Unwanted Pregnancy:
Barack Obama is an original co-sponsor of legislation to expand access to contraception, health information and preventive services to help reduce unintended pregnancies. Introduced in January 2007, the Prevention First Act will increase funding for family planning and comprehensive sex education that teaches both abstinence and safe sex methods. The Act will also end insurance discrimination against contraception, improve awareness about emergency contraception, and provide compassionate assistance to rape victims.

16. All the Dem candidates support reproductive rights, and so do I, but
that's not at the top of MY list. I'm 64! I want those rights for the younger people in the Country, but there are a lot of other things much more important to me than that.

17. I do hate that there is no search function. Not on Clinton's either. Edwards' site has one.
It can be hard to find specific positions on Obama's and Clinton's site. I don't know why there is no search box.

18. Search box would be sweet.
This whole blog format the campaigns are all using makes it hard to find what you're looking for sometimes. I actually miss the websites thy all had in 04. Obviously these aren't the easiest to navigate if we confused DUers are any indication.

That search box is practically worth my vote.

I would not like this either It's Fishing for Contacts and I believe Most People Would feel likewise. I guess his followers don't care about his issue positions, the "excitement" is enough... For the time being...
