If Bloomberg enters the race in order to prop the GOP candidate...
will Democrats be wishing that John Edwards was still in the race ? I think they'd be sorry to have forced him out, but by then the corporate interests will have been well served.

With Edwards conveniently out of the picture, Obama or Hillary is the Democratic candidate vs. McCain or Huckabee or possibly Romney. With those Dem vs GOP candidates the Dem wins hands down every time, but if Bloomberg runs as a stealth 'independent' candidate, that changes everything.

Edwards will HAVE to show up as an indy candidate in order to save the Democrat's bacon. I certainly hope this scenario takes place because I think Edwards could still run the table !

3. Bloomberg would be doing it to even the odds for the GOP and torpedo the Dem
Edwards would be in it to torpedo the GOP. Think long and hard about the GOP's obvious 'waiting game' strategy here.

2. All he has to do is claim he's an anti-Iraq war billionaire.
The Republicans will kiss his feet in weeping gratitude.

alone without Perot being present in the race. Clinton beat Bush. Perot enters, the race was then into thirds. In fact, that's how Clinton won, with a plurality.

When the GOP can't win it on the upandup they'll throw in a ringer to even things up.

7. Obama met with Bloomberg one morning a couple of weeks ago -
Do you really think they didn't discuss the criteria under which Bloomberg would mount a third party campaign?

which HRC seems to be on the way to locking up with delegates already,

and let the corporations think they've won. Then I'd announce my third party candidacy, which will probably be simultaneous to Bloomberg's announcing his entry.

I'm glad to hear JE said he's in this for those three little words,
