Rove goes after Obama; Uses B. Clinton Talking Points
Glad to see Rove is picking up on Bill's talking points about supposedly conflicting statements on IWR (there are no such conflicts).

But more importantly, why is Rove suddenly trying to take down Obama?

Cafferty's (CNN) theory is that since Repugs' research has shown Clinton to be more beatable, Rove is trying to take out the tougher competition (Obama). Another theory is simply that he's trying to take down the candidate he thinks Repugs will face in November.

Or he's simply being Rove and bashing Dems. Then again, Rove is more calculating than that.

So, why do you think Rove is suddenly coming after Obama?

3. Yes, as I said
In my post. But for some reason he's zeroed-in on Obama, at least at the moment.

28. Great Rovian strategy. He knows if he goes too much after HC
there will be an even greater gender backlash than in NH. He wants a sympathy vote for Obama. He knows the Rethugs will be able to beat Obama in gen election.

We fall for Rovian ploys all the time. Think, people!

2. You Bet
That is exactly what is happening.

They WANT to run against Clinton. There is nothing by chance with Rove. You better believe he is playing a chess board and he wants to use Obama as a pawn to get what he wants: a Clinton nomination.

The DNC and RNC is pretty much the same whether it be Karl Rove or Mark Penn.

They have no love for the Pretty brown!

6. Rove and the right wing
will attack both of them without mercy or merit. It's got nothing to do with bolstering one or the other. They are attacking dems to appease their base and attract fellow travelers.Hillary with sexism,Obama with racism. It's what they do and they do it well.

7. Because if Hillary wins, the Iraqi War's legacy is saved. If not, Rove is disgraced.
It's still all about Iraq.

All about Iraq.

And that was the biggest deciding factor as to why after long, long deliberation I chose Barack Obama: He opposed the war from the very beginning. So did I.

23. Actually, it's a two-fer.
If he's talking to anybody at this point about Obama OR Clinton, it ain't Republicans. He gets to attack Obama and make "Clinton" look bad in the eyes of Dems at the same time.

I suppose one could infer from that that he is trying to help Edwards, whereas I would say he's just trying to do as much damage as possible and maybe extend the primary season a little longer. The longer the Dems are fighting each other, the less time they will have to hassle Republicans... and it looks like the Repub primary season may go on for a long time!

27. So your premise is that all the hate, all the books, all the talk radio hysteria,
all of the very same things that make 47% say they will "never" vote for her, are Republican tactics to build her up?

16. Nope not surprising
But his new focus on Obama is interesting. He's practically talking up Clinton if you read some of those links.

Believe me I'm not 'anti-Clinton', and I'm sure if he thought HRC was tougher to beat, the situation would be reversed.

If you read the article -- Rove is repeating in his article the repeated criticism made by Clinton. I'm not real thrilled with it either.

21. Karl Rove, Hannity and Bush all want to run against Hillary
Karl Rove, Sean Hannity and GW B*** all want to run against Hillary. They know that Hillary will attract GOP voters to come out in droves and vote against her. They won't even need a GOTV drive if she is nominated. They can spend all their money on ads.

With Obama as the nominee, he will attract big fundraising and Democrats, Independents and some disenfranchised GOPers to vote FOR him and maybe give the Democrats a filibuster proof congress.

Hillary might lose us some Congress and Senate seats like she did in 1994.

24. Actually they have been feverishly attacking Hillary for years
Meanwhile they have remained largely silent on Obama. They know that racism and bigotry are the glue that hold their party together. Everything is bigotry to them and they hate everyone. They hate the French, they hate Immigrants, they hate Mexicans, they hate Liberals, they hate Muslims, they hate Gays, they hate minorities, they disenfranchise black voters, they call people names like, 'halfrican', and they are xenophobic. Bigotry is the lowest common denominator with republicans. Their whole plan of action would be to paint Obama as a radical muslim. Of course they would self destruct in the process, which would be fun to watch. Anyway, who cares who the republicans want to run against, they are toast no matter what.
