I received my 1st Obama chain letter last week. This letter makes some references to Obama and his parents being muslim, basically making it sound like voting for him would be like voting for terrorists. In the chain letter it states that it is True and states that it was on snopes.com
I responded to the letter stating that Snopes actually states it is false.
I received the same chain letter again yesterday (from the same person!!!) and this time I responded to each person who previously forwarded the email with
"Actually, the below email is untrue. You can research it yourself by *Actually* visiting the website that you reference in your email instead of passing on false information."
http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/muslim.aspto which I got the following response:
"part is true and part is not. I did reference the article. "
so, I responded with:
"No you did not reference the article, you just fell for a chain letter trying to hurt someones credibility. Again, if you ACTUALLY visited the site, you would see that Snopes states it is false.
but I guess it's easier just to forward chain letters without actually researching to see if they are true or not."
Why are people so freeking gullible? Why... time after time, when you ask someone to research something before they pass it along, do they continue to show how gullible they are?
