B: John Kerry is an backstabber who calculated this to hurt Edwards.

How can these both be true? How could Kerry hurt Edwards with a worthless endorsement? And if it's not important, why the dozens of posts about him? :shrug:

my feelings on the subject of Kerry's endorsement, but couldn't both statements technically be true? Kerry could have calculated his statement to have a certain effect (B), but because of (A) it wouldn't have the effect he desired? Not seeing how these definitely couldn't both be true simultaneously...
