Advice to Edwards from a fellow North Carolinian
Stop this race for President and come home and try to run for Governor. And try it again after your term as Governor. Our last two Governors have been Democrats. If he comes home now, and starts repairing the image some people have of him in the state. He could be elected Governor in November.

The race for the Presidential Nomination is a losing battle. Come fight a fight you can win.

1. I like JE, that may very well be a great plan. People seem to be
obsessing over the "trial lawyer" thing, "Governor" might be the way to go. Good for you...

4. As much as I would hate to see him go, I would not balk.
Be sure to do good exploratory research re Govenor before dropping out.

I have to tease--maybe by the time you finish the governorship you
will graying. This is done with complete affection. "you will look
old enough to be President."

I still want your voice the working class and poor.

:eyes:

Edwards is doing pretty well given the media blackout.

The media is controlling this election process, but people just can't or refuse to see it. The big money goes to the candidates they are comfortable with, as does the media coverage. We have The Barack and Hillary Show on now 24/7, and Edwards barely gets a mention from time to time.

I keep hoping more people are going to wise up and quit buying into the crap they're being fed. Because the facts are there, you just have to open your eyes to see them.

12. I think they are, one at a time, by word of mouth.
And I don't want to win any debates. I just want America to wake up and see what is really going on!

Would anyone believe two decades ago that the legislation that has gotten passed under George Bush could have happened? Habeas corpus would be stripped away? A president would out a COVERT CIA agent for political reasons? The Patriot Act I and II? That the SCOTUS would order the loser of the popular vote into the White House? That the United States would declare war on a sovereign nation that had caused us no harm?

Good grief, no one would have thought such horrendous things possible. But they've all come to bear. And only the American people can put a stop to it. We can't afford another 4 year (or 8 year) mistake.

I don't want anyone to change their minds because of anything I say, but I do want them to open their eyes, research on their own and ask themselves some tough questions. All of this is happening for a reason.

Why is Edwards being ignored in the media? Why is it Hillary today, Barack tomorrow, Hillary the next day, rinse and repeat? I just want people to seek out the truth, because things just don't add up unless you do.

21. Good point
Edwards is doing very well considering the media refuses to acknowledge he's even in the race. The Supremes "selected" the winner in 2000; looks like the MSM will choose for us this time.

10. I would love for Edwards to be governor, and he could do it too.
I don't think he has a bad image in the state, but I think he has no chance getting the Dem nomination.

14. I live in Raleigh and have since 1991...
but I'm a Yankee at heart. I prefer the North and will move back when able.

That's why it's surprising to people who know me that I'm so drawn to Edwards, Southern drawl and all.

I haven't encountered the dislike of Edwards you speak of, though you're in Charlotte, if I'm not mistaken? Big corporate center. Could explain it.

Republicans certainly dislike him, but I haven't found democrats dissing him around here. Most dems I've encountered, and independents, living in this area like him and have followed his evolution over the years and are glad he has gone in the direction he has with his platform and that he acknowledged the mistake of voting for IWR.

They know much more about his personal life and have seen things he has done in this area, such as the computer lab they established for at-risk youth.

Honestly, the signs I have seen the most are for Ron Paul. LOL.

That's my experience thus far.

17. I actually think this is a great idea.
What's the public opinion of JE like down there? I'd hate to see him fade from the public realm if he loses the nomination.

18. Its not
very good. But he can change it. He didn't do much as a Senator for NC. People think he only used it as a stepping stone to trying to become President. But he can repair it quickly. And this state loves to vote Democratic for Governor. But we need a strong Dem Candidate this time. He's the guy if he comes back now and works on it.
