If Edwards wants Howard's support?
Why doesn't he just offer him a slot. Hell, Health and Human Services might get it done. I don't get it.

2. How do we know he hasn't?
Edwards now mentions Dean in almost every stump speech. These kinds of things just aren't announced, as a general rule, and Dean may not want to commit to something like that and kill his chances of serving a role in Kerry's administration, or Kucinich's, or kill a surprise upsurge in support for Dean in states that haven't voted yet.

3. Why would Dean join on another IWR ticket?
No sense.

Non at all!

4. Dean is practical.
Always has been. There is no other viable choice.

5. Well, my preference at least....

I wish he would not join another "ticket".

He's too good for any of them.

But, that's just my opinion.

edit: Molly...

Carpenters Union Hall tonight.

19:00-21:00

You're going right?

Because it beats a Skull & Bones/PNAC/Waffle ticket?
Just my unholy gut feeling....

11. That's the ticket (not the truth, but the ticket)...
that's the exact "rationalization" that will be coming from the echo chamber if that pipe dream comes through

8. No offense, Dean would make an aweful Vice President...
He has way too many of his own ideas to sit around and rubber stamp somebody else's ideas.

9. I agree. The sum of both is greater than the parts.
These two need to work out a visable deal in order to increase the power of both and carry the message thru to a win in Novemeber.

Dean would reinforce Edwards' anti-establishment credentials. They need to do something visable - although I'm not sure that vp is the best choice for Dean (especially since Edwards needs foreign policy credentials in that slot, IMO). Agree with the HHS idea - is that enough for Dean?

Don't see Dean getting much from Kerry come Novemeber - and Dean needs to give support to Edwards now, not later.

10. Or DNC chairman.
Makes some sense. Sec of HHS isn't exactly that glorious or prestigious a post as far as appointments go.

Or maybe amassador to Rwanda, we all know how important Dean thinks that is
