If Dean wins IA,NH and SC after massive onslaught...
...couldn't the attacks actually have helped him rather than hinder him? Bill Clinton was bashed relentlessly in lat '91, and early '92, and when he started winnning anyway, it made him look tough enough to be President. And his skin was a heck of a lot tougher, too.

I think I'd say that about any frontrunner who got bashed as relentlessly.

Just a thought...

1. Re: If Dean wins IA,NH and SC after massive onslaught...
Did Clinton tell on the other candidates after they pointed out shortcomings?

3. I do seem to recall he had a temper...
He played hardball with Tsongas, I seem to recall...he wasn't exactly a shrinking violet...to be fair, it seems like Dean is getting bashed far more than any other candidate(including *)...the way the attacks come out, it looks like the different campaigns are calling each other up to coordinate...when did this become about stopping the frontrunning Democrat instead of stopping the Republican incumbent? I know it's not a coronation ceremony, but I can't imagine these attacks boost the percentage support of the attackers to the same extent they decrease the frontrunner's support..it could just cause some folks to stay home...

2. Great analysis....
and the scenario you propose is entirely possible in my opinion. When the smoke screen finally clears and the question of Dean's electability is finally put to rest, he will win the general election and all the naysayers will finally have to admit they were wrong about him and his candidacy. He's viable and his supporters are viable and this will be proven come November 2004.

BTW, Welcome megaplayboy!

Well, no on the abs, but if Dean wins the first 3 primaries, depsite being called every name in the book, the Repukes might be looking at the DEMOCRATIC TEFLON PRESIDENT, which scraes them silly! :)
