Edwards has raised $1.6 million since last Thursday and vows to continue
CLEMSON, S.C. — Diving into the South Carolina primary, John Edwards has a plan to keep himself positioned to capture the Democratic presidential nomination.

To not drop out.

But Eric Schultz, a spokesman for the campaign, points to signs of strength. Since Mr. Edwards’s second-place finish in Iowa last Thursday, the campaign has raised $1.6 million, Mr. Schultz said. Mr. Edwards has also won the endorsement of the 6,000-member South Carolina steelworkers union and, as he did in Iowa, will continue to court labor unions and rural voters.

1. Kudos to the SC steelworkers!!!
It warms my heart to hear that, while some others just want to back the supposed "winner".
