Candidates' issues and substance
Edited on Wed Jan-09-08 10:58 PM by Bishop Rook
I'll keep this brief.

I beg of you--Obamaniacs, Clintonites, Edwardsians, Kucinichers, Gravelics, Sons of Richardson, even you few Gore holdouts, Greenies, and disguised Freepers--everyone, please spend ten minutes each exploring the next three links. Thirty minutes total. It is not a lot of time to ask.

http://www.barackobama.com/issues/
http://www.johnedwards.com/issues/

Find the issues that matter to you. Read all three frontrunners' substance on those issues. Compare and contrast them--the amount of information available, specificity vs. generality, even the inclusion or lack thereof of certain topics.

Find out what the candidates really stand for. Find out what their plans are, and whether those plans are realistic and achievable.

I'm not even going to bother pushing any of the three in this post. Just remember that there is ever so much more to each candidate than what we hear in speeches and see on TV.

And if you have the extra time to spend, check out:

On edit: Changed title to try and pollute the message less.

1. I hate to self-bump...
...Not that I even know if replying to my own thread will bump. But I'm trying really, really hard not to get depressed and disheartened by our entire political system right now. Is it simply impossible to start discussion without flamebait? Are we really going to be like this until the primaries are over?

Sigh, remind me to stop by the liquor store for some content oblivion, tomorrow.
