4. A little too convenient
Yes, I know that these guys were supposedly part of a publicity stunt by WBCN-FM, a local radio station, but something doesn't add up. Hillary's events are noted for being masterfully stage managed, and her advance team is adamant to the point of belligerence about not allowing attendees to bring in their own signs. Yet these schlubs were able to walk in with an "iron my shirt" sign"?

5. Who knows how they got the signs in?
Look at what Code Pink is able to do.

And who exactly notes that her events are more stage-managed than others'?

13. Saying something was staged for political gain is not a wacky "conspiracy" theory
History is absolutely riddled with them

7. Is that just a generic sexist insult, or from a movie or something?
Edited on Wed Jan-09-08 09:33 PM by Bongo Prophet
It sounds like something from some parody character in a sitcom.
I suspected college repub types - typical for them - but the saying itself reminded me of the Archie Bunker>Al Bundy>Redneck comedy type legacy.

Anybody know?
So tired of sexist, racist and juvenile "Look at me, I am in ur rally, fucking with ur democracy" bull.

edit to add - this makes me feel like an old fogie - I almost ranted about youtube generation show offs.
Get off OUR LAWN!

12. Get over it. It's not sexism
It's a couple of dufuses out to incite people. They're probably laughing their asses off at people that get insulted by this.

A blatant prank, nothing more.

16. Right...because the same prank on a male candidate would have been identical, right?
They would have yelled "Iron my shirt" at Mitt Romney or John McCain, right? As a prank.

Come on. There are credible denials of sexism in American society. Yours is not one of them. Iron my shirt? Please.

18. There are, but this is not one of them.
It's like screaming about a troll on a message board advocating slavery. They don't believe it, but as long as they can incite you, they've won.

Those guys wanted to make the news. They have, and now you're calling it sexism. Like it is some profound reflection of society. Sometimes I don't wonder why we lose to Republicans.

24. It's not a reflection of society that yelling "Iron my shirt"
to a woman running for President is supposed to be funny?

19. It was a radio station prank.
Doesn't make it any less sexist, but what Morning Zoo team is not sexist?

Of course they wouldn't do it for Romney or McCain. Their audience wouldn't find it funny.

23. It was a prank, and it was still sexist
What a shock. A prank can depend on sexism for its punchline. Duh.

28. Who said it was cute?
that doesnt mean it has anything to do with reality.

The guys that did it are shock jocks. Its what they do they try to push peoples buttons. This is a huge coup for them and they are playing you like a fiddle.

No one is condoning it just recognizing it for what it was instead of what you want to make it into.

26. This Was ALL Part Of The Clinton Bid For Sympathy "Act."
I mean how "coincidental" could the operative w/ the sign and the ... err choking up "event" be? Occurring "conveniently" just before the election?

The STENCH of Clinton underhandedness is not even open to question.

Well. at least the sympathy bit err is out of the way? OOPS... This was just the SECOND TIME SHE USED THIS TACTIC!

Perhaps there's room for a THIRD? But they'll have to get creative? Nahhhh...

The Media has a shorter memory than Jack Nicklaus does after missing 2 foot putt...

Fahget about it!

:puke: on the CORRUPT CORPORATIST MEDIA... :puke: Lest we forget the all deserving Clintons as well! :sarcasm:
