Obama's New Hampshire Primary concession speech thread
Edited on Tue Jan-08-08 11:26 PM by Tactical Progressive
OBAMA - OBAMA - OBAMA - OBAMA - OBAMA ...
Thank you - thank you - thank you ....
I love you back.

I am still fired up and ready to go.

First of all I want to congratulate Senator Clinton on a hard fought victory here in New Hampshire.
Give her a big round of applause.

(cheers)

A few weeks ago no one could have imagined what we did here in New Hampshire.
.
.

You spoke up for change.
.
.
.

Terrorism and nuclear weapons.
Climate change and poverty.
Genocide and disease.

All of the candidates in this race share these goals.
All of the candidates in this race have good ideas.
And all are patriots who serve this country honorably.

But the reason our campaign has always been different.
The reason we began this improbable journey, almost a year ago.
Is because it's not just what I will do as President.
It is also about what you, the people who love this country,
the citizens of the United States of America can do to change it
That's what this election s all about.

CHEERS.

That's why tonight belongs to you.
.
.
.

Generations of Americans have responded with a simple creed
that sums up the spirit of a people:

Yes we can.
Yes we can.
Yes we can.

YES WE CAN - YES WE CAN - YES WE CAN - YES WE CAN ....

It was a creed written into the founding documents
that declared the destiny of a nation.

Yes we can.

It was whispered by slaves and abolitionists
.
.
.

Yes we can to justice and equality.

YES WE CAN - YES WE CAN - YES WE CAN - YES WE CAN - YES WE CAN - YES WE CAN ...

Yes we can, to opportunity and prosperity.
Yes we can heal this nation.
Yes we can repair this world
Yes we can

And so tommorrow, as we take the campaign south and west.
.
.
.

That we are not as divided as our politics suggests.
That we are one people.
We are one nation.

And together we will begin the next great chapter in the American story
with three words that will ring from coast to coast, from sea to shining sea:

Yes. We. Can.

Thank you New Hampshire. Thank you.
Thank you.

(Sorry, no more. This is tiring.)

12. What are you listening to?
Empty rhetoric, all the time. How dare he say no lobbyists when he is deep in their obligation. They own him.

What new majority?

He lost.

But, "he's all fird up and ready to go and ride the wave."

9. Notice how he's talking about more concrete issues than in past speeches
Edited on Tue Jan-08-08 10:54 PM by Harvey Korman
Talking about health care, education, war in Iraq, etc.

I think it's a smart move, and it's what he'll have to do to win over older voters.

35. He used a telepromter
Not mad at him. It means he did his homework, was prepared, and didn't want to screw it up.

Nice job.

36. I can tell when somebody is reading a teleprompter
Edited on Tue Jan-08-08 11:31 PM by Tactical Progressive
Especially if they are uncomfortably obvious doing it, and Obama is.
I noticed it during his victory speech after the Iowa caucuses.
ABC pointed it out the next day on the evening news, it was so conspicuous.

I think it's a little strange for victory and concession speeches.

Obama is just saying that hope can't ever be discounted, and called false.

34. The Clinton's used racism to try to bring him down
There's nothing he could say or do to her that would ever compare to the sheer nastiness of the Clintons. Don't even go there.

He borrowed from JFK at least twice, if not three times.

Asking people to do for their country...

Putting a man on the moon...

Just thought it was interesting.
