The Homeruns of Dennis Kucinich
Edited on Thu Feb-26-04 01:29 AM by Kanary
While Rep. Kucinich has many great policy proposals that make for great discussions, his more current accomplishments have often not reached the light of day. Given the dearth of media coverage, lets begin to discuss some of these accomplishments here.

Dennis' success in fighting Diebold demonstrated to me this is a man who not only sees the threats to our country, but knows how to go about making headway against them. In November, Dennis was able to convince Diebold to back down from their threats against ISPs for having information about Diebold flaws on their websites.

If Diebold is able to throw some of the election results to the right, it *won't* be because Dennis was asleep at the wheel on the issue!

2. Besides being right on just about every issue that faces us
Edited on Thu Feb-26-04 02:55 AM by WilliamPitt
I can't think of any home runs to speak of.

:)

Ten years from now, the 'crazy' stuff DK is talking about will be accepted as mainstream, as necessary, as "Damn, we should have done that ten years ago."

3. In ten years..
If progressives are continually ignored it will be...

"You are forbidden to speak of such communist activities. Do you hate our Freedom?! Now make my big mac wage slave!"

:)

6. "Ten years from now"
I see no reason to be so hopeful, Will. We've been going toward The Pit, not away, and we're now really, truly teetering on the edge. Anti-democratic (indeed fascist) felons on our court of last resort, imprisonment without trial, war without justification or end, the mandatory use of election technology controlled by the ruling class, and almost no congressional opposition to any of it. What reason have we to hope?

9. Indeed..
We are moving to the right, to this fascist end so quickly. We are stuck focusing on letters (R,D) and not actually STOPPING this move rightward.

As long as the letter changes no one cares if we still move rightward, the letter soothes us.

5. Good point.
After election 2000, all democrats should be thanking Dennis for working to make sure our votes actually "count."

7. HooHoo. I talked to Dennis about BBV in Santa Fe months ago.
He had no idea of what I was talking about. Then I gave his aides the BBV sites in writing....nothing happened...then ALL OF A SUDDEN Dennis comes out with THE ONLY PLAN to get rid of BBV woes and introduces a BILL...
I hope that I am among the many who brought this to his attention. He TAKES ACTION when there is a problem...

Funny how none of the other candidates are doing much...

8. Gotta support the man of action.
People judge you by what you do more than what you say. Or as my gramma said, actions speak louder than words.

14. *There* it is! He "flip-flopped"!
You asked him about a topic, he didn't know anything about it, then later he is knowledgeable, and comes out with action and proposals. What are you gonna do with a guy who keeps educating himself and changing his stance when he gets new information???

I think I'm too tired to carry off sarcasm well, so......

Another Hurrah for Dennis :toast: and another chance to be grateful we have Dennis being steadfast for us!

11. Effective in rallying anti-IWR vote in House
Kucinich was a major factor in rallying his fellow Democrats in the House to vote against the IWR vote.

That was an exercise oin political effectiveness. Even though we ultimately went to war, the House Democrats showed a lot more backbone that the Senate Dems. Kucinich had a lot to do with that.

12. He is a true leader!
Others are poll watchers.

Dennis leads!

He is the best we have -- why equivocate for the rest? Vote for the best!
