You guys are all forgetting about committed delegates.
It doesn't matter who wins the votes, as the delegates will determine who our nominee is.

I feel sorry for morans who don't understand how Democracy works.

6. Maybe I'm a moran ... but I thought that VOTES were important
in democracy.

Yeah, it's nice that HRC may have the "party faithful" on her side. But don't we "little people" count too? Geez, it may be true that we have to take our PARTY back first then THEN our country ... It's the Democratic Party, not the Clinton Party, after all.

12. That's true-- it's just like the electoral college
Before today, the top three candidates were separated by only TWO delegates.

13. All delegates are bound on the first vote at the convention
Edited on Tue Jan-08-08 08:35 PM by Gman
to who they have committed to. Delegates are apportioned by the states according to the state's method for selecting delegates. Every delegate that goes to the convention will be committed to a candidate, unless "Uncommitted" gets 15% in some state and sends Uncommitted delegates, which is highly unlikely.

Even including super-delegates, no state will send more delegates for a candidate than there are delegates apportioned to a candidate in that state. So all the talk about super-delegates is way off base.

For example, a state is sending 100 delegates, with 3 candidates getting 50-30-20 delegates each. The state has 10 super delegates. All 10 committed to the candidate with 50 delegates. This doesn't mean the candidate now gets 60 delegates. It means that the delegation for that candidate will send 40 elected delegates and 10 super delegates for a total of 50. Everyone else keeps what they earned.
