He was a foolish dreamer himself. He got his reality check in the White House. He knows what goes.

29. Is that why he praised George Bush?
Said we should give him the benefit of the doubt on the yellowcake? Said he liked him very much at his Presidential library opening? Becaue he'd learned so much in the White House???

Is that why he hasn't once attacked the press as they've carried water for the Bushies all these years, or when they attacked John Kerry? But NOW he wants to whine after the media practically annointed Hillary all last year.

Face it, Bill Clinton is not who you thought he was.

32. I suspect G Bush Sr. helped the Clintons and presidency during the Starr investigation.
Edited on Tue Jan-08-08 06:15 PM by terisan
Clinton was not prepared for what he would face in the presidency. The crap started flying at both of them early on and they proved to be fighters.

I voted for Clinton in 1992 when he took everything flung at him in the NYC primary and remained standing at the end (and in fact won), I figured he was inexperienced but wouln't fold no matter what....and he didn't. Neither did she.

If Michelle and Elizabeth can stump --so can Bill.

But please do not pretend that he is just a political spouse as the others are.

No --I didn't. I knew he'd be a little plus --and big minus.

Mind you --I liked Bill Clinton's Presidency BECAUSE of Hillary.
I'd rather have had her as President back then too.

If I were Bill, I'd probably be doing the same. Though, admittedly, it's gotta be bizarre for him to suddenly feel like the establishment guy trying to push for the party candidate.

as Bill not doing the right thing for Hillary's campaign. I don't think he realized that his comments would result in such a backlash.

I had hoped some of Bill's humanity would rub off on the elder bush. Seems the elder bush has just make Bill prickly to the point of dulling his senses.

He made a bunch of factually incorrect statements in his little diatribe. I don't think he's that badly misinformed. He's just hoping to get it on TV and hope people buy it.

33. Check your "every". Obama has been toeing the line on Iraq War since entering Senate.
He keeps presenting himself as guy against war-----he could have made a stirring speech in Senate on getting out now. If he made it I missed it.

39. This may be off the wall, but I think the Clintons do not understand the power of the internet.
When he won in 92 there was AOL, Compuserve, etc. In 96, the WWW was new and people were still using Archie and Veronica to search/view the web. Bill's victories included managing the main stream media and he and his War Room did that very well.

Hillary's win in 2000 was so lopsided that the internet really did not play a big role.

Today, in a YouTube world, we all have amazing access to near-real-time information and the ability to see polls on a daily basis. Obama understands how to "play the web". Edwards does too, but Obama seems to do it better and faster.

FWIW
