Hillary is never mentioned as VP possibility. Know why?
Because she's viewed as too much of a heavyweight. Overqualified.
Food for thought.

3. uh, no
because she would add nothing to the ticket. She's from NY, which will already go to whichever Democrat. And she'd hurt in red states.

6. She's not just a Heavyweight, she's a Heavy Weight.
She definitely brings out the worst of the GOP hate machine, and I think Edwards or Obama are better off running without assuming that automatic negative dragging them down.

9. Kinda. I think it's not really overqualified so much as over-known.
That is, her renown would overshadow the presidential candidate.

Also, there's the fact that she doesn't really add a whole lot to a ticket. From a political stance, the VP slot is often used to reach out to certain voters the candidate has trouble getting. That's why Massachusetts senator Kerry picked North Carolina senator Edwards (that and the fact that he already had name recognition).

Let's say for argument's sake that Obama wins the nomination. What does a Clinton on the ticket get him? Hardcore Democrats? With a few exceptions, they'll punch the D anyway. That's what makes them hardcore Democrats. And he'd lose more voters than he'd gain in the general, as Clinton would alienate potential GOP-voter crossovers.

Obama'd be much better off with a Southern or Southwestern politician who's got some name recognition, but not more than the candidate himself. I'm still hoping that if Obama wins the nomination, he goes with Bill Richardson for VP.

10. Respectfully disagree.
First, I think that she can be a very good president. Time will tell if she gets the nomination. But, if she does, I think she will accomplish a lot of good in her two terms.

Second, I think people do think of her as a potential VP, if she does not get the nomination. Considering the expanded powers of the OVP under Cheney, the selection of the democratic vice president is going to be very important. There isn't a politician in the entire country that is "overqualified" for the position.

12. Not "overqualfied", just too much of a diva for a ticket--and by diva, I mean
anyone whose persona and attitude lend to an inability to play second fiddle and take a backseat, so don't start with the sexist stuff. Biden might be a diva, McCain is, a whole host of politicians are. Neither good nor bad.

She'll have a fine career in the Senate and will continue to be a leading voice there.
