"This man was intense," stated Mel Gibson in a television interview with Diane Sawyer, "He wanted to do so much for the people of America, but he was not allowed to. And in the end, he was starting to lose it. I mean he completely lost it."
"Sure, I would love to go see a movie about him." stated an official with the Democratic Party, "I think it is great that a filmmaker recognizes that Howard Dean was not only a great politician trying to win a race, but also a great human being and a doctor who helped people."
Others, mainly Republicans, are not as happy about the portrayal of Howard Dean. "I saw a preview of an early version of this movie." Said Ed Gillespie, the Republican National Committee Chairman, "and I'm not happy. I think this will give rise to hatred and bad feelings toward Republicans in general."
Ed Gillespie is commenting on a scene in the movie, where the Republicans are portrayed as the people that brought down Howard Dean. "Down with him! Down with him!" shouts a crowd of Republicans as he walks through them.
