On The Ground With A TPM Contributor - Good News!
http://talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/063063.php

On the Ground

TPM Reader CS checks in from New Hampshire:

My wife and I are NH residents and registered independents (or undeclared as the state calls it) and went to vote at 7am in Nashua. There was no line per-say, but there was a lot of activity. People going in and out...exit pollster (complete with media logos) handing out clipboards with surveys...Obama and Hillary supporters with signs at the school parking lot entrance. There were lots of Edwards signs out on the street. The only evidence of republicans was a single Ron Paul sign across the street.

When I want to pick up my ballot, I saw a lot of names in the book with "UND" crossed out and "DEM" written in its place. Anecdotally, this indicated a lot of independents breaking for the dems, probably for Obama. McCain just held a big rally here yesterday, but there was no evidence of it now.

Just thought you might want this piece of info.

1. "at 7 AM" there were already "a lot lot of names in the book with "UND" crossed out"
After fisrt saying "There was no line per-say" at 7 AM, he's saying "a lot of names in the book with "UND" crossed out and "DEM" written in its place."
ObamaNation needs to work out the details of their planted stories "a lot" better.

8. Obama will ride his unicorn down from the rainbow with Jesus and give puppies and candy to us all!
Fuzzy feel good non-specifics worked for Reagan.
Let's "hope" America has grown since then.

21. Poor, confused ObamaNation. At least 65% of Democrats don't support Obama...
... and you think they're all from "the Clinton camp"?
That's naive, and shows little political experience.
No wonder you support who you do!

4. Hey, I always vote as early as I can
and if the polls opened at 6, then there could have been a flood of folks voting at that time before they went to work. And we don't know who they voted for--just that they were breaking for Democrats. Take that part of the article with good cheer and ignore the spin.

Note: this doesn't tout one candidate or another, just reports that the turnout has been much larger than expected.

5. I don't think they have to change from undeclared to democrat to vote
I wonder if those are party switchers (which would be fantastic) or indies voting in the Dem race.

13. 'UND' = Independent, and you need to declare to be handed a ballot.
The planted story claims that even though there were no lines when the polling place opened there were somehow "a lot" of undeclared voters voting ahead of them. Invisible undeclared voters. Uh Huh.

20. You are correct. So this is fantastic news.
These are all new Democrats!!!!

POLITICAL PARTIES
When registering to vote, you will not be required to register as a member of a political party (republican or democratic) -- you may register as an undeclared voter. If you are registered as an undeclared voter and go to vote in a state primary election, you will be required to choose a party when accepting a ballot. Voters should be aware of their party status before a primary election. If you voted on a party ballot in the 2006 state primary, you are now a registered member of that party unless you filled out a card to return to undeclared status with the supervisors of the checklist.

I think you've lost it.

Good news all the way around for the Democrats and the best you've got is " obviously fake and planted story".

Sorry, pal-- not every bit of good news is "planted". Sometimes good news is just that-- good news.

15. Undeclareds in southern NH lean democratic historically.
Undeclareds in the rest of the state heavily lean republican.

But this is just the primary, where stripes can pretend they are stars.
