commentator on radio eloquently outlines my reservations about Obama this morning
1. Beware style over substance. Iowa is the 5th whitest state in the U.S., yet it has the highest incarceration rate for African Americans. Not mentioned once during the campaign.

Leading to

2. We don't want a President that transcends race....we want one that transforms racial politics.

Concluding with: don't overlook Obama...but definitely look him over.

for all the problems we are facing as a nation. I am not looking for someone "to have a beer with" as in the past.

3. I listened to his commentary this morning
Many callers are upset with Tavis. I do agree with one caller's comment that he never held Hillary to the same standard. He had the opportunity to address these issues in his own debate and chose not to.

5. He's been very supportive of Obama. I think he is fair minded in his coverage.
That caller is not correct. I listen to every commentary he does on Tom Joyner, and he has been critical of Clinton.

6. No, the caller is correct. He didn't ask these same questions to Clinton
The caller was specific in their criticism of Tavis' commentary.

7. What questions? It was a commentary. He has had commentaries...
that are critical of the other candidates. He has had commentaries that praise Obama. No one is being interviewed.

8. It was regarding one of the questions asked IN the commentary
He was talking about the stats of prison rates in Iowa. Tavis said Obama never addressed it. Hillary didn't address it either and if it was such a crucial question why didn't Tavis include it in the his debate?

10. how do incarceration rates ave anything to do with Obama winning
and is there another candidate running that "transforms racial politics," more? Sounds like someone is just trying to play devil's advocate... and poorly.
