EVERY Dem candidate needs to be "playing the card" and by that I mean talking about dealing with al qaeda.

into voting for her.
She preaching to the wrong crowd by throwing down that gauntlet in a dem primary.

Olberman noted the lunacy of her new campaign "tactic" too!

13. No but she (or whoever we nom) needs to talk about terrorism like it matters because
number one, it does matter and number two, it will be huge in the election.

She's going for the "Obama is a muslim" thing.

8. Bullshit. She may be going for the "Obama is a rookie" thing
and you may not like that, but that is what politicians do in primaries - they try to find advantages to stress over their opponents. John Edwards went for the "Hillary is the status quo" thing during the debate for similar reasons, to get an edge before voters go to the polls. It's called politics. It is up to voters to decide which distinctions are overblown and/or false and which have merrit, just iker it is up to the candidates to make their case.

15. Well...as a ROOKIE SENATOR....Hillary voted for the IWR
The iraq war has distracted our attention away from going after Been Forgotten. Not only that, it has cost our country dearly in lives and dollars. It has lowered our credibility even among our allies. And has strengthened al queda, making for a rallying cry for recruitment. Not to mention iraq has turned into a civil war.

So my question to hillary is, why did you vote for a war that Wes Clark warned against for some of the above reasons and spoke to Congress warning about it?

A secondary question is how can you talk about been forgotten when you voted for the iraq war which strengthened his hand?

16. And that is a fair debating point
Trying to make it into a "Muslim smear" wasn't. But it isn't fair to hang the whole IWR resolution solely around Clinton's neck to hang her with. John Kerry would have made a good President. Many still think John Edwards will. Many were hoping until last week that Joe Biden would also. All of those men did not vote for war. People like me and I assume you also think that their vote enabled a war to happen, like leaving a gun around where a child might find it, but that is not the same sin as picking up that gun and killing the neighbor's kid with it on purpose. None of those Democrats (and Chris Dodd I might add also) voted FOR George Bush's war.

17. Regardless, Hillary can't campaign against Iraq or make an issue of it in the general
Obama is best able to do that, since he opposed the war from the start

5. So both parties should be telling us to buy plastic sheeting and duct tape
because Al Qaeda is coming to kill our children? Hey, that fear crap sucks when Bush does it and it sucks when Democrats do it. Fine, talk about a sensible foreign policy that deals realistically with Al Qaeda or whoever, but don't try to fucking scare me. I'm sick of it, whoever does it.

used on us since 2001. The problem is that she could have highlighted the fact that she would be competent to handle the issue without saying that no one else could....cause that's not true.

Remember she was married to the President, she wasn't the President; she wasn't his Siamese twin. She is overselling herself, and dragging in terrorism to contrast her experience to the other candidates is false when you thinnk about it. Plus, she fails to mention that she was snookered (or so I hear) in reference to a war....so why bring a "I can handle things better than everyone else" speech? Obviously she made biggo giant mistake in judging information that ended up causing the biggest debacle in American Foreign policy history.....so why try to sell herself as being able to do what no one else can? It ain't so. Some folks actually did better than she did. They had better judgment.

to avoid discussing their strengths in this area. It exists. Junior may have beat us over the head with it...but the issue is valid.

if you can't talk about it, and sound like you are know it is still a major issue, you can forget winning the GE.
