regardless of whether or not either one of them wins or loses.
Love her or hate her...say what you want...but from now on, because of Hillary, it will be just a little bit easier for a woman to run for the highest political office in a land where men have had complete control since the beginning of time.
The time for women to rule this land is either just upon us if she wins, or it's not too far around the bend if she loses. Surely other qualified women will find it a little bit easier to walk that road, now that it's paved a little bit harder.
All future women presidential hopefuls can look to her campaign and use it to further themselves by using what they considered to be her strong points or by avoiding the parts that they considered to be her weak points. Either way, they'll be able to pick and choose what they liked or didn't like about her campaign and plan accordingly for themselves.
Same for Obama. In a white man's country, he has proven himself not to just be some African-American curiosity who's running for the highest office in the land, but a real live legitimate contender to be taken extremely seriously. Any person of color is going to find the road to the White House just a little bit easier because of Obama breaking the ice.
Whatever happens to either one of these two, Hillary or Obama, there will be more and more women and people of color who will find it easier to walk the same path because of them breaking trail ahead.
Let's just make sure that when it happens, it's a Democrat who breaks the gender barrier or the race barrier when it comes to becoming the first President. We do not want a Republican making a mockery of our progress.
