Why Obama won the debate, CHANGE!!
A post I saw on the Barack Obama blog made a great point.

"What I find most fascinating about both the Democratic and Republican debates is how they're all trying to play Obama's game.

He's set the tone and theme and they're ALL trying to dance to it. (but they can't because he's inventing the steps)

They're all singing the Change "Hallelujah" Chorus now.

How did the "junior senator from Illinois" accomplish this?"

The entire theme of last night's debate(s) was change; a label that Obama already owns. If the other candidates are forced to chase a message that already belongs to Obama, then he has already won.

1. "Any time you speak out powerfully for change, the forces of status quo attack."
Thanks for attacking Hilary!!

6. I know who said it
but, the point is it was a powerful quote that helps sink Hilary

3. That was Edwards' line - and he's right. And this has always been his message.

10. Not always.
When he was a senator, he didn't challenge any powers. He went along with them and cheerleaded their proposals.

OP about "Obama's game" for change and the first supporting response throws out an Edwards quote to back it up!

How IRONIC!

5. And Edwards won the debate HANDS down. Not even close.
Obama didn't mess up, but he was very low energy, not much there there. Did have a nice closing statement. Poor Hillary.

11. I agree. I thought Edwards looked the most fresh and passionate.
He solidified his position for me; which is second behind Obama. But, the theme of both debates was change, and that helps Obama as much as Edwards performance.

My order of debate performances:
1) Edwards, passion
2) Richardson, experience
3) Obama, didn't lose
4) Hillary, angry

7. He came in 2nd but did
Ok...at the debate, and enough "Change" (100 mil) collected Will buy you (a chance) a few State's
So Hope his message - (Plan's) will stand on there own? for the long run..

I don't think Change is Patented by him - every Election!!! (almost) everyone says change is needed.

12. Hillary pushed the "experience" versus "change" meme.
Blame her for giving it to Obama.

13. Every candidate promises change
That's not a message, it is a standard campaign statement.

Edwards has said it

Obama has said it

Clinton has said it

Richardson has said it

Ron Paul has said it

Mitt Romney has said it

John McCain has said it

Rudy has said it

Obama did not come up with this, he merely is repeating what every other candidate is saying. What you don't hear is anyone willing to keep the staus quo.
