Rasmussen Reports : Bush 49% Kerry 44%
other key indications:

A related survey finds that 55% of American voters believe the U.S. should make sure that Iraq becomes a peaceful nation enjoying freedom and democracy.

Over the past month, voter perceptions of John Kerry have begun to shift. The biggest change is that 51% now believe their own taxes will go up if Kerry wins. That represents a 6-point jump from a month ago.

Forty-six percent (46%) of voters prefer Bush on the economy while 43% prefer Kerry.

Sixty percent (60%) say that our nation is generally fair and decent.

The national telephone survey of 1,500 Likely voters was conducted by Rasmussen Reports over the past three nights. Margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence.

1. Rasmussen has been Republican leaning for a while
and is not borne out by other polls.

2. Come on now, we all know about Rasmussen's little bias.
I don't think we'd see any different regardless of candidate. You could run Jesus in a Rasmussen poll, and Bush would still lead.

7. Edwards will need a miracle after last night....
he's done and Super Tuesday will put the final nail in the coffin. I'll even go so far as to say I can't see him actually winning even one state on Super Tuesday.

12. Let me add to that....
Larry King is going to expose how little Edwards knows on foreign policy in the next debate.

It's actually shocking how little knowledge he has....I think it might be less than Bush.

One would think the guy might have learned something being on the intelligence committee.

17. Edwards Is As Incurious As Junior. He Is CAPABLE But Doesn't Use
Edited on Wed Feb-25-04 10:25 AM by cryingshame
his full capacity intellectually.

He's never had to during his personal injury days or during his short political life. And I mean really go into depth on the subjects.

Edwards knows just enough about a lot of things to make it SEEM he has a clue... but mostly he relies on his speaking abilities to make the impression he's more substantial.

Just turn on the charm to manipulate people.

... because there is a third in this race - Bush.

never seen Dems using republican pollsters, political operatives, and mediawhores to make points for their candidates in the primaries until I started hanging out at DU.

To each his own, but it just seems so wierd.

11. Rasmussen unreliable even for trends: automated polling!!
I am not sure why anyone pays any attention to Rasmussen. He uses a methodology that has been proven to be highly inaccurate. Rasmussen uses automated polling. The telephone rings, and the 12 yr old picks it up and decides to have a little fun with the questions. There is no way Rasmussen knows who is answering his questions or what their motivations are. I have as much faith in internet polls, which is to say, none. Forget Rasmussen, please.

13. "Kerry is losing ground...we need Edwards"
Please. What has Edwards been called on thus far? Do you think the media has taken some sort of secret pledge to NEVER attack Edwards? Or is it possible that if he were to be the nominee (which appears to be the goal) they would rip him to shreds. So many personal injury trials...so little time. "Edwards is a much more attractive candidate, both physically and because he hasn't been damaged yet"--Sean Hannity. Yesterday's radio show.

15. Come on, Rasmussen is the most right-wing pollster
there is. If he has the race that narrow, Bush must be doing horribly against Kerry.

Isn't this the same poll that used the results from asking whether we shold bring "peace, democracy, and freedom" to Iraq to try to show that Americans support the invasion and occupation of Iraq? It's hard to construct a question more biased than that one.
