Hillary seems to be understanding of the complexities of getting our troops out
of Iraq. She realizes it's easy to say, "I'll have the troops out in X time...it's much more complicated than that. She analyzes the issues instead of saying what the public want to hear. She tells it like it is...often to her determent.

6. she really understands the complexity and what involves
moving equipment and men? whats involved? besides the "we need to keep troops in iraq to prevent it from collapsing" imo its already collapsed, a speedy retreat of american forces replaced by a truely international coallition is the only way to repair iraq, the longer we maintain any forces their the more destruction we cause. Iraq is getting worse because we are their, sure the number of deaths may be diminishing but people are still dying, dissidents are still blowing themselves up, it is chaos their. She does not understand the complexities of moving out people out of iraq. She understands how important iraq is to big oil and how important US bases in the middle east are. She is a calculating triangulating corpratist. it took the 101st airbourne to go from chillin in the US to the heart of baghdad two months.

16. You don't have the votes to stop the funding, it is political suicide to vote against the funding
There is no question that if anyone of the LEADING candidates voted against funding the troops they would be labelled as NOT SUPPORTING THEM, and the government controlled media would go right along with it

Until WE get power, that is the only REAL way to stop the war. There are not enough votes in Congress

She should not have voted for getting us into it in the first place

I haven't decided who I am voting for in the primaries, except at this time I won't vote for Hillary in the primaries, so for me it is between Edwards and Obama.

I am in California so there is still a ways to go

You make a good point

The most important thing for ALL of us is that whoever the nominee is, we should vote for that nominee because the stakes are much too large, and Iraq isn't even at the top of the list, The Supreme Court is for me

Edited on Sat Jan-05-08 10:50 PM by still_one
Hillary on the other hand didn't say she made a mistake, she said she was misled by bush. That is bunk. The War Powers Act wouldn't have stopped bush from going into Iraq, but it SURE would have MANDATED CONGRESSIONAL OVERSIGHT, and provided a very easy exit out of Iraq within 60 days, Unless Congress declared war. Throwing that oversight away was wrong

and Hillary said she was misled. I'd say the one who CREATED the bill in the first place was much more culpable. The difference is more than semantics.

by name. It's an insidious little game they play, face licking like coyotes, until they are all part of the same pack. Only when things go very, very wrong, do they start thinking clearly again. Hillary has already gone through the process. If she really wanted to be the next great president, she could be. It's all in her hands. She's a smart lady. She just now has to be an independent thinker, like she's never been since 1993.

Added on edit: Not all the Jews support AIPAC. AIPAC has been acting like the war-mongering conservative political side, and from what I understand, there is a considerable number of Jewish Americans and Israeli Jews who are opposed to its direction. Maybe they aren't listened to, because they're not big political contributors, but maybe it's time they should be given a voice, separate from the neo-cons?

Except for Ron Paul, the repukes are extremely consistent on this issue. Voted to go to war throught IWR, which effectively repealed the War Powers Act, and stay their until the job is done, whatever the hell that means, wink, wink

STAY THEIR PERMANENTLY is what it means, or until we go broke whichever comes first

49. ROFL: Hillary's "complexity" focused "plan"
1)Tell the military to plan the logistics of withdrawing troops
2)Stop funding Iraqi government with blank check
3)Figure out something to do with US civilians in Iraq
4) Figure out something to do with Iraqi civilians who aided US and may be in danger
5) Maybe pull out a brigade or two a month.

(paraphrase from her speech yesterday)

WOOOOOOOOW!!!!! Holy crap, the sheer COMPLEXITY of her suggestions! Oh my Gawd...I can barely wrap my head around it!

As I suspected and which Zogby confirmed on Washington Journal (12-30-07 first guest), the rightwing ideologues AKA: neocons want Hillary to win.

Hillary voted yes on the IWR and on K-L.

Do the math.

Please consider the possibility of choosing a different path and remember:
