There is a right way and a wrong way to promote your candidate
Edited on Sat Jan-05-08 07:26 PM by politicasista
The right way to promote your candidate is to make the best and clear case for him/her. Why is he/she the best man or woman to lead this country? What would he/she or his/her administration do differently than the current administration? (ok this is easy. :)) Make the case with facts, not spin.

The wrong way to promote your candidate is tearing down past nominees (aka throwing them under the bus) while lifting them up. That means, spouting off non-stop right wing talking points just because you disliked the candidate/nominee, but you like the current candidate/potential nominee. Yes, there will always be criticism about the last two elections, and couldas, wouldas, shouldas, but we put the best candidates we could forward (I don't care what anyone says).

Hindsight is 20-20, and the last thing we need to do is play the Repukes game and buy into the media spin about our former nominees. This is 2008, not 2004 or 2000.

And if you are wondering, yes, I have a candidate, but I choose to promote with truth and facts, not spin.

How about you?

4. There are no truth or facts in politics.
Only what you think you know at the time, which is subject to change at a moment's notice. Any and all policy proposals can be completely discarded upon election, as can any other generic promises. That's why berating people for voting for a candidate based on how said candidate makes them "feel" is fruitless, since that's just as valid a basis for their vote as any policy specifics they offer on their websites.

6. No, what I am saying is
Edited on Sat Jan-05-08 08:17 PM by politicasista
that if you want to promote your candidate, you should stick to the point/facts without spouting off BS about former candiates. If you are supporting Obama, Clinton, Edwards, Richardson, or someone else, it should be about what they WILL or WOULD do for America, not; gee Obama is progressive, Gore and Kerry are DINOs; or Hillary is a fighter, Kerry is a wimp or Gore is a bore; Gore sighs too much, Kerry licks his lips too much, or Obama says "uh" too much but Edwards is tough and charismatic.

That's is what I am saying. I am not berating anyone for supporting or voting for a candidate beacuse of how they feel.

10. I don't have a candidate currently. Biden dropped out and Barbara Jordan is dead.
So, I'm watching and listening and observing.
