3. No. That was only for first-round caucus viability
NH has a primary election, so it doesn't apply

4. Nope, it's a regular primary, not a caucus.
You just cast a ballot for a candidate.

5. NH's way of voting will be better for Hillary than Iowa was
I heard a lot of people were afraid to verbally say they were for Hillary in front of their friends. In NH no one will have to know you voted for Hillary.

8. Yes!
The second choice thing doesn't apply. There is only one vote.

However, even though it is a primary instead of a caucus, its purpose is still to select delegates to the national convention. Delegates will be apportioned according to vote totals. In order to get any delegates, a candidate must get at least 15% of the vote.

Tuesday 8 January 2008: 22 of 30 delegates to the Democratic National Convention are allocated to presidential contenders based on the results of the voting in today's New Hampshire Presidential Primary. A mandatory 15 percent threshold is required in order for a presidential contender to be allocated National Convention delegates at either the congressional district or statewide level.

14 district delegates are to be allocated proportionally to presidential contenders based on the primary results in each of the State's 2 congressional districts.
CD 1: 7
CD 2: 7
In addition, 8 delegates are to be allocated to presidential contenders based on the primary vote statewide.
5 at-large National Convention delegates
3 Pledged PLEOs

In the republican primary, the threshold is 10%

9. 15% rule applies to ALL states
Edited on Sat Jan-05-08 08:58 AM by MaineDem
At some point in the delegate selection process the 15% threshold comes into play.

In Iowa it came in at precinct level. For instance, in Maine it comes in at state convention level. But it's required in all states.
