4. Takes a lot of money to make creative ads.
Shows the family aspect. I want to know what the changes will be. Changes like putting Cheney and Bush in jail would be a start.

26. Read this & put your money where your mouth is.

And from Michael Moore email today:
“So Barack, you can talk all you want about "let's put the partisanship aside, let's all get along," but the other side has no intention of being anything but the bullies they are. Get your game face on now. And, if you can, tell me why you are now the second largest recipient of health industry payola after Hillary. You now take more money from the people committed to stopping universal health care than any of the Republican candidates.”

13. I want to know how he proposes to make changes.
He owes the same old folks in Washington the same old favors for their money.

Source: http://www.boston.com/news/nation/articles/2007/08/09/pacs_and_lobbyists_aided_obamas_rise/

A Globe review of Obama's campaign finance records shows that he collected hundreds of thousands of dollars from lobbyists and PACs as a state legislator in Illinois, a US senator, and a presidential aspirant.

In Obama's eight years in the Illinois Senate, from 1996 to 2004, almost two-thirds of the money he raised for his campaigns -- $296,000 of $461,000 -- came from PACs, corporate contributions, or unions, according to Illinois Board of Elections records. He tapped financial services firms, real estate developers, healthcare providers, oil companies, and many other corporate interests, the records show.

Obama's US Senate campaign committee, starting with his successful run in 2004, has collected $128,000 from lobbyists and $1.3 million from PACs, according to the Center for Responsive Politics, a nonprofit organization that tracks money in politics. His $1.3 million from PACs represents 8 percent of what he has raised overall. Clinton's Senate committee, by comparison, has raised $3 million from PACs, 4 percent of her total amount raised, the group said.

In addition, Obama's own federal PAC, Hopefund, took in $115,000 from 56 PACs in the 2005-2006 election cycle out of $4.4 million the PAC raised, according to CQ MoneyLine, which collects Federal Election Commission data. Obama then used those PAC contributions -- including thousands from defense contractors, law firms, and the securities and insurance industries -- to build support for his presidential run by making donations to Democratic Party organizations and candidates around the country.

All that money comes at a price...and that's the price of doing business as usual in Washington, D.C.

Personally, I want CHANGE. REAL CHANGE, not just more of the same with a new label stuck on top of the old one.

Could someone please explain to me how Barack is going to bring about change that is helpful to the American people? That change is going to impact the bottom line of these corporations who have been so loyal to Barack. They aren't going to be as receptive to change, because it will cost them money.

Please explain to me how Barack will make this happen, keeping in mind he's still collecting money from them today.

17. And from the same article:
Obama's campaign is relying almost exclusively on an unprecedented network of grass-roots donors and activists -- nearly 260,000 of them had given him money through June alone.
And some good-government activists say that, past fund-raising practices aside, Obama has genuinely been a champion for ethics and campaign reform, both in the Illinois Legislature and in Congress.
"On the one hand, sure, he rose to power as many people do in this town, which is to raise money from the people who have the money," said Gary Kalman, of the advocacy group US PIRG.
At the same time, he added, Obama has championed public financing for elections and he fought hard to pass the federal ethics reform bill.

29. How do you feel about Edwards choosing to turn down public financing until
he couldn't raise as much money as he hoped? Suddenly he "chose to take a stand" by taking public funding. What a phony.

he spent campaigning in Iowa for the last 4 years came from.

I've not seen him do anything unethical or contrary to his statements with any of his money.

In the meantime, though, your attempt to divert the focus away from the question at hand has failed.

I want to know how Barack Obama, as President, can make changes that will be contrary to the financial success of his corporate donors. They will fight him, and he is now indebted to them. How will he do this?

Seriously, I'd really like to know, because it just doesn't compute in my book.
