I got an email from Glenn Hurowitz just 2 weeks ago asking for money to put up an ad to trash Obama...I of course told him what he could do with it. Now today I get this email using Obama's victory last night to try to raise money. I think we should all send him some 'love'....n'est pas? His email address is glenn@dcourage.com. I should add that Hurowitz is an Edward's supporter.

Dear Supporter,

It's time to come together for progressive change. Help put a Democrat in the White House. Can you chip in $50 or $100 today?

What an incredible night in Iowa! Barack Obama's victory - and John Edwards's strong second - were a clear vote for progressive change, and that's something we can all be excited about.

It was amazing to see so many voters turn out for the Democrats. More than twice as many people caucused for the Democrats than the Republicans, including loads of independent voters. Young people turned out in record numbers for the Democrats, a very encouraging sign for the future. And, though it's going to take a lot of work and money to get there, that means we've got a great chance to put a Democrat committed to change in the White House this fall.

Help make that inspiring vision a reality by contributing $50, $100, or more today.

We're proud of what we've done so far - taking up the fight for a progressive, courageous, candidate when few were willing to aggressively challenge the front-runner. But our work is only beginning. We've got to make sure that whoever wins the Democratic nomination not only talks, but also acts like the courageous progressive we need to take on the Republicans and transform this country. The last few weeks were very encouraging on that front, with Obama, Edwards, and Clinton competing to show that they were the best candidate to take on the Republicans and transform the country. Now, we've got to come together and make sure a progressive Democrat wins the White House.

Click here to contribute and make it happen!

Thank you for all your incredible support,

Glenn Hurowitz and the entire Democratic Courage team

P.S. I'm on the ground in New Hampshire, and the enthusiasm coming out of the Iowa caucuses is just amazing. Help us capture that energy and make progressive change happen by contributing here.

Here is the email I got just two weeks ago...

Dear Supporter,

Great news: with your help, our Hillary Clinton ad had a huge impact - opening the floodgates to people taking a close look at her record and realizing she's not the strong leader she makes herself out to be. Check out this amazing story in The Wall Street Journal about how we're maximizing your dollars:

"Thousands of people saw or heard part of a recent advertisement that criticized Hillary Clinton for not standing up to Republican attacks...

The ad was so juicy -- an attack from the left using a cardboard cutout of Clinton toppling in the wind -- that newspapers and broadcasters couldn't resist writing or talking about it. National Public Radio played a snippet and the Newark Star-Ledger, the San Jose Mercury News and the Boston Globe mentioned it. Several media outlets, including The Wall Street Journal, put the video on their Web sites."

Indeed, this ad helped open the floodgates - making people take a close look at Hillary's record and realize she's not the strong leader she makes herself out to be. Having just returned from Iowa, I can report that she's rapidly sinking in the polls.

However, Barack Obama remains a contender, and thus far he hasn't been challenged on a record that is at least as capitulating and compromising as Hillary's. It was Obama, after all, who voted for President Bush's energy bill, sending billions in subsidies to the oil companies; Obama who has been the Senate's top Democratic champion of heavily polluting liquid coal; Obama who voted to allow credit card companies to raise interest rates above 30 percent; Obama who backed one of President Bush's top priorities - expanding Nafta to Peru - even as Bush and Republicans blocked all the Democrats' priorities; and Obama whose health care plan leaves millions uninsured. If you believe there's a candidate with the backbone Obama and Hillary lack, please contribute today.

We have another ad ready to go with this message that we think will have even more of an impact on the election than our first one. But to complete it, we need to raise $5000 in 12 hours. And any money you give will be doubled: one of board members has pledged to match any donations, up to $2500 - if you give before 5 pm today.

Contribute now.

With only days before the Iowa caucuses, this is our last chance to ensure the election of a progressive, courageous, and winning Democrat. Please contribute today.

Thank you!

Glenn Hurowitz

"John Edwards's strong second"

A virtual tie with Clinton is a strong second?
