If he's second, he can still compete.

18. Look, I live in the South. There is no national advertising here..
no one is paying attention. The ones that are, that I talk to, are breaking for Edwards. Please don't quote me fucking polls. If you live in the south and talk to southerners everyday, then tell me what they're telling you.

17. You could say the same of Obama. Anyone who finishes behind Hillary has a tough time finding a state
where they can turn it around.

If Hillary beats Edwards or Obama, will they turn it around in New Hampshire or South Carolina or California, where a win in Iowa would boost her leads?

http://www.pollster.com/08-CA-Dem-Pres-Primary.php

The truth is, if Obama or Edwards falls behind Iowa where they have their best chance of beating Hillary, they won't catch her in enough later states to make it competitive. It's now or never for both Obama and Edwards -- an neither has to win --they just have to beat Hillary.

19. My question is ...
if Edwards loses tonight, I dont think he can recover anywhere. Its do or die in my view. And if after NH/SC he decides to give up, where do his voters go? If they arent for Hillary now, wouldnt they more than likely vote for Obama if they dont stay home? And if all the others drop out, wont they want to go against the status quo as well by going for Obama. If Obama wins tonight, I think hes in good shape. If Hillary wins tonight, I think she coasts.

23. The caucus is not the last word in Iowa. These caucuses are usually
attended by hard core party members who vote for convention delegates and decide on resolutions to send to the state conventions. There are many party members and voters who do not attend but they will vote in the primary. That will show us what more people want. I lived I Iowa for about 25+ years and went to one caucus meeting. I voted in every primary and general election. That was true of most of our Democratic friends also.
