1. Yeah, because no one has ever lost the Iowa caucus and later won their party's nomination.
:sarcasm:

The M$M seems to have no knowledge of modern US political history. I swear, it's just like they're making stuff up as they go along...and the sheep just accept it without question.

6. Things are a lot different than they used to be with the condensed primary schedule
It used to be that the schedule was a lot more spread out with only one primary week for the first few weeks. This would give candidates a chance to do retail politics in more than just Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina. When you have so many states condensed early on, you can't do retail politics in anywhere but Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina and you have to rely on "momentum" to win those states.

Even as recently as 1992, the schedule was not so front loaded that Iowa and New Hampshire victories were critical. In '96 Clinton was the incumbent and in 2000 Gore had it locked up. 2004 is the first time we saw the real effects of front loading when Kerry won it all by winning Iowa.

8. That's a very good point.
Things certainly have changed much since 1992. I hadn't considered the condensed primary schedule and its effect on the winner of the Iowa caucus. Time will tell if the effect of this front loading will hold true for Obama.

5. So according to the "news" Iowa and only Iowa chooses our candidate.
All other states should just shut up and consume.

7. It would appear that's the case, if you listen to the idiotic
talking heads. Tucker just dissed Obama and laughed at Edward's spokesperson. I know, I know.. I wasn't suppose to be watching them but I couldn't figure out why the headline at the bottom of the screen read: "Edwards in Trouble in Iowa?". Unfreakin believable.
