From WaPo: Biden's people are being directed to vote "undecided" if they fall under the threshold
Triangle, N.C.: What's your take on the rumors that Biden and Richardson will tell their supporters to vote for Obama if they fall under 15 percent, as Kucinich did?

Christopher C. Hull: My understanding is that Biden's people are being directed to vote "undecided" if they fall under the threshold. I don't know about Richardson, but I would doubt that - I think he's campaiging to be Vice President, and Hillary Clinton would be the safer bet if he were to do something like that.

From an online chat on WaPo's website with former majority staff director of the Iowa Senate Christopher C. Hull, who recently wrote " Grassroots Rules: How the Iowa Caucus Helps Elect American Presidents."

8. Where do you see the Biden caucusers going if he is unviable?
In your observation, is there a strong "second choice" candidate among the Iowa Biden supporters?

12. He won't be....he'll be viable..
but if by some slim chance he isn't, I'd say Obama, or Dodd, if they're viable. I know a some will go to Edwards. Some Hillary. But in the back of my mind, John has been campaigning there for 4 years, and if he's not people's first choice by now, then I think they are looking for something different. Obviously.

11. Your link supports the OP
That Biden supporters are not being directed to support another candidate in precincts where he is not viable.

Surely there will be some precincts where this is the case.

13. Which is different from asking them to be uncommitted.
Edited on Thu Jan-03-08 05:11 PM by Mass
Biden lets his supporters free.

And hopefully, supporters of other candidates will group to make one of the "small" candidates viable.
